The Accommodating Amerihost in Columbus, Ohio

Clean and Comfortable

I recently stayed at this hotel, which is located off of I-71 in North Columbus, OH. I made my reservation directly off the company's website. It was a smooth and easy transaction. The website stated that check in was not until 3 p.m. After a four hour drive from Michigan, we arrived there at about 11:30 a.m and thought we would take our chances with them letting us check in early. The hotel personnel were very understanding and were generous enough to allow us into our room early, since there was a room like our reserved room already cleaned.

When we arrived in our room, in was clean smelling and looking. We had a king sized bed, a couch, desk and chair, dresser, hair dryer, ironing board and iron, coffee maker and coffer in our room. There was also an alarm clock and safe to use. We were told when we checked in if we used the safe there would be a $1.50 charge and if not to tell the front desk when we checked out so they would not charge us for it. I am not sure how they know if you use it or not because we did not have the need for it.

Another amenity available at the hotel was a gym/fitness room. There was a hot tub on location as well, but it was closed down. Free Internet access was also available. The hotel was located right next to a grocery store and across the street from a drug store. In case you forgot any personal items on your trip, you could also call the front desk for items such as a razor, toothbrush or toothpaste. Shampoo, soap and lotion were available in the bathroom in our room.

Each morning a complimentary continental breakfast is served. There was much more vast variety of food available than I expected. For beverage, there was a variety of different flavored and brands of teas, orange juice, apple juice grapefruit juice, hot cocoa, coffee, 2% and skim milk. There were bagels, English muffins, regular muffins, and different cereals to choose from as well. For the healthier eater, yogurt and fresh melon was available.

I was satisfied with my hotel stay at the AmeriHost Inn Columbus North. I did see a sign by the front desk that they would soon be going by the name Baymont Inn & Suites. Compared to the other hotels in the area for the days I needed, the price was great. I paid $80.56 with taxes and fees included with that. I would stay here again if I was in the area and needed a room.

That sounds like a very reasonable price for a hotel with the amenities you describe.
