The Acer Netbook: The Best Laptop I Ever Owned

The best laptop I ever owned was the Acer AOA-150 netbook, which I purchased about three years ago. This tiny computer was excellent for many reasons. First, the price was fantastic. It only cost me around $350 and it was brand new. At the time, I was used to portable computers costing anywhere from $600 to $2,000. I knew immediately that this was a bargain.

I was quickly amazed at how long the battery lasted. Traditionally, laptop batteries are horrible. But this little PC allowed me to surf the internet for up to 3 hours. It was an awesome timesaver while I was traveling on vacation and on business. I could boot it up in under 30 seconds and spend an hour going through e-mails or chatting online. Traveling was also very easy since the Acer is the size of a small hardcover book. It fits perfectly in the top pocket of my carry-on luggage. The AC adapter is equally as slender and not cumbersome at all.

In 2010, I had surgery that left me bedridden for an entire month. Fortunately, I was able to rest the Acer netbook on my chest and watch online videos and chat on Facebook. It kept me from becoming bored and cut-off from the rest of the world!

The portability of the Acer netbook also allowed me to connect it to my home stereo system and play all of my music. The Acer had a hefty internal hard drive (around 120GB) and I was able to keep my entire collection up to date with no storage issues. Occasionally, I even took my Acer in the car with me and hooked it up to my car stereo so I could listen to my tunes while I drove somewhere.

When I moved across the country in 2011, I was traveling barebones. I had only a few precious belongings in my car and I was unable to bring my desktop PC since it was too bulky. The Acer allowed me to easily bring it along, and using the internal wireless card, I was able to use it at the library or at restaurants while I traveled. Most of the time, I didn't even have to plug it in.

Another great feature of the Acer netbook was that it was very easy to type on. The keyboard was small but it was still feasible for my large hands to use. During college, I even used it while I studied at the library to type a 50+ page research paper!

Overall, the Acer AOA-150 netbook was the best laptop I ever owned. It had such a collection of unique features that were a pleasure to use. That little computer was a lifesaver quite a few times.
