In my attempts to franticly camouflage the acne symptoms with weird concoctions and expensive creams, my amused relationships would add the very painful and very difficult advice to follow that "you must avoid chocolate and sweets as both of them will certainly give you spots"!
For decades, it has been considered that chocolate is the reason for many acne problems; however this is a big misconception!
There is no scientific evidence to support this; studies have shown no significant link connecting chocolate to acne.
Although, I'd be ready to bet that the vast majority of people would state that "chocolate does cause skin problems" ... regardless of that being a myth, it is still considered the truth!
However it's all about to change - let me introduce the acne fighting chocolate bar!
"Yes, it's an acne fighting chocolate bar"!
Chocolate is now being used to prevent and treat acne...
A manufacturer of cosmetics and skin care products has created a "Chocolate Clarifying Bar"!
The chocolate bar might not be as delicious as a full fatty bar of Cabury's, but it's very tasty and hardly tastes like a diet chocolate bar!
Scott Vincent Borba the inventor of the chocolate bar has been all over the media lately, not just for turning a believed "acne-causing" food into an acne preventative measure. But for turning acne prevention from something distasteful - to a chore much more enjoyable and tasty!
Borba's chocolates will soon be making an even larger appearance on a major retailer's shelves, and the powder is being used in cocktails in at least one L.A. nightspot and a health club.
Borba said "You have to drink water and eat to survive, so why not benefit with the habits you need to survive?" "What does the normal population do? The biggest things are the potato-chip area and candy area, like gummy bears, jelly beans and chocolate, so we decided to take our powder and infuse a little bit of our powder; candy bars with all the benefits."
Normally, one doesn't link chocolate with blemish-free skin, But perhaps these latest chocolate bars from Borba will help convert people's belief on chocolate and acne.
How does it work?
The chocolate bar is made with his "Skin Balance Clarifying Aqua-Less Crystalline Powder" to eliminate toxins, prevent breakouts, enhance skin clarity and to reduce redness and irritation connected with acne.
The ingredients in the confectionary contain a refined powder of complex vitamins from walnut-hush extract, pomegranate extract and green tea extract; all of which promote healthy skin and help generate the natural support system of the skin!
Borba says "people can achieve skin clarity by eating the candy along with his other skin products. People like to indulge, and it's OK for them to indulge, with half the carbs and an organic delivery system with multiple benefits. It's a no-brainer".
Although; this break through does not come cheap... one chocolate bar can set you back $8.00, and can only be bought exclusively online at Nordstrom.com Borba's chocolates will soon be making an even larger appearance on a major retailer's shelves, and the powder is being used in cocktails in at least one L.A. nightspot and a health club.
According to the website, studies have shown that the independent testers consuming these "Clarifying Chocolate Bars" had a 52 percent blemish reduction in only 28 days.
However, it does not state how many chocolate bars the testers were consuming for these kinds of results.
I am assuming however that at $8.00 a bar, acne sufferers will not be rushing out to find out how many it does take at that price!
And it doesn't stop at chocolate. Borba has also invented other products that work in a similar way as the chocolate; acne treating jelly beans and gummy bears that sell for $25 and for only 1 pound in weight!
Jennifer Love Hewitt is said to be a Borba jelly bean fan, Hilaru Duff is said to love Borba's gummi bears ($25 a pound) and Eva Longoria likes Borba's aqua-less crystalline packets ($100.00 for 30 day supply).
BORBA Skin Aqualess Crystaline powder packets contain small microspheres impregnated with skin care ingredients. It is said that over time, it works its way to the outer dermis level to provide clearer, healthier skin.
You have to dissolve one packet into 16 oz. of water and the powder turns into a pink liquid that tastes vaguely of pomegranate or you add it to any your favorite beverages. For optimal results you should consume one packet, twice daily.
However these products have not been evaluated by the Food and Drug Administration. It clearly states on the website that the items are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any kind of disease.
So there we have it, the acne fighting chocolate bar! These items can be purchased on Borba's Web site, www.borba.net.

I guess I am not a doctor but my experience is that different things trigger acne in different people, and these triggers can be hereditary. I used to have problems with acne, nothing extraordinary, but the occasional inconvenient break out. I tried everything: scrubs (these do help a little), creams, proactive, but it wasn't until I cut chocolate out of my diet, after noticing a pattern, that it completely stopped. I told my sister this who had a worse problem with acne than I did and after she cut chocolate and peanut butter out of her diet her problems where significantly reduced.
From experience, find your trigger and your will find the solution. Some marketing schemes like to play on people's acne problems for financial gain. I believe the truth is that the causes of acne are diverse and if you watch what you do and what you eat you can probably find some key triggers that, if eliminated, will go miles in helping your acne, and if you really have a serious problems don't
