The Addict's Hallmark

Just a note for Mother's day
I hope you are doing well.
If you are and can spare a dime
Please drop it in the mail.
No, I can't come,
There's so much to be done,
Searching and obtaining and all.
Did I tell you that? I meant to just call
Then I really have to run.
Me? I'm just fine, can't sleep a wink,
Been up a couple of days.
I need a few bucks to fix the sink
I'll give it back to you when I get paid.
It's not Mother's Day?
Oh, well, where's Dad? I get silly at times.
Just a note, Dad, hope you're well.
If you are, can you please spare a dime?
