"The Adjustment Bureau" Movie Review

Have you ever wondered if your destiny, your life's path, your future was really controlled by you? That seems to be the premise of, "The Adjustment Bureau." Matt Damon (David Norris) plays an up and coming politician in New York City who has some career setbacks. After a failed political campaign, he finds himself in transition, contemplating his next move.

Seems like a good time to find a love interest! Cue in love interest: Norris has a "chance" encounter with the very beautiful Elise Sellas, played by Emily Blunt, in a pretty weird place. If I told you, you wouldn't believe me. Anyway, Norris falls hard for this young lady! He falls harder and faster for her than Charlie Sheen's acting career. While I watched him obsess about Elise, I was thinking, 'has this guy ever had a girl friend in high school'? Norris was irked because he didn't get her cell number, you know digits. Come on Norris, at least get a Twitter handle, no? Well, he screwed up, and he knew it.

He was starting to move on with his life, but 'would he ever meet her again in a city as big as NYC' you ask? Why yes! On a NYC bus of all places! A second "chance" encounter! OK, I lived in NYC for two years, and I never took the bus, so really? Anyway, this is the end right? They will, "live happily ever after" on the bus ride of life! Not so fast!

This is where the question of "who or what" shapes our destiny is explored, as well as the forces out there that may have an influence over them. Elements that may manipulate our life's future towards an outcome that "they" choose; and destination "they" want.

What would you do if you were confronted with those entities, forces, things/people who want to control your destiny? Well, you have to watch the movie to find out who "they" are, and to see what happens. But there are some great action scenes, special effects (you know those forces can do some cool stuff to get around in NYC, since it's always so dang crowded). I know, how inconvenient. And of course there's a cool love story, and the risks people will take for love.
