The Advantage of Owning an RV

You might not think there are advantages to owning a motor home, with the cost of gas and a 75-gallon tank to fill up. However I can detail what some of the advantages will be.

When you consider the cost of flying to your destination, figure the cost of airline tickets, car rental and eating out. Roll that number together and I think you'll be amazed at how much you actually spend!

If you own a timeshare, you're committed to going to that "one" place every year, at least if you want to get your money's worth out of it.

When you own your own motor home (or travel trailer, or pop up) it might cost you initially in the gas that you're using but what are some of the advantages?

1. Quality time with your family: Traveling to your destination provides plenty of opportunity for bonding with your family. Motor homes provide a lot of space, so kids can be spread out and not arguing for space with one another. You also have a table, which your family can play cards or board games on, and the seats do have seatbelts!

2.Cleanliness: When you stop at a motel, do you know what's on those sheets you're sleeping on? I don't either.... When you own your own RV, you know those sheets and blankets came from your dryer and went directly to your bed. The same can be said for the toilet. Let's not discuss that further, I think you understand!

3.Eating Out: You have your own fridge, so why eat out unless you want to? For the cost of going to the grocery store, you can supply your own food, just as you would at home. You can prepare easy meals, so you don't spend your vacation cooking.

4.The Opportunity to go where you want: Maybe this year Disneyland is on the docket, next year it might be the White Mountains. You are not committed to just one spot. The whole country can be your playground!

5.Sightseeing: When you're driving anywhere, you can see a whole lot more than you can from an airplane window. You can take your time, and if you want to stop and see the World's largest Ball of Yarn, you can! Go at your own pace, see what you want and make as many stops as you want.

So while gas cost might be one downside, you can see there are several advantages. When time is short because of a full work week, quality time is important. Traveling and exploring with your family can't be beat!
