This scenario suggests a fundamental advantage of of having a basement bathroom shower, yet these advantages can be further linked to the entire economic circumstances of my two-earner family.
In fact, the advantages of installing a shower in the basement extend to an overall lifestyle that I and my working spouse wish to create.
Noise Reduction
As stated, I'm not tiptoeing in from a night playing cards. I'm coming in from a job that requires me to work a different shift than my wife.
Perhaps we have children and are trying to avoid the cost of a babysitter by working at different times.
One of the advantages of having a basement bathroom shower, then, is that I can come home and not disturb those who might already be sleeping.
Cleanliness
Another advantage of having a basement bathroom shower is also connected to lifestyle.
The notion that my blue collar job isn't consistent with my wife's white collar career, for example, is another reason for installing a shower in the basement.
Do I want to cover her nice towels in the upstairs bathroom with the oil and grease of my factory job? Or do I just go to my own basement shower that can contain special soaps for extra heavy cleaning?
Owing to the economic circumstances of my two-earner family, therefore, a basement bathroom shower has the advantage of helping me avoid unnecessary arguments with my wife.
Cost Efficient
Because I am the only person who will use the basement bathroom shower, it can be regarded in strictly utilitarian terms. This means that, while the shower can be fully stocked with the most functional soaps and other supplies that will get me clean, there is no need for fancy decorations in my own private basement bathroom shower.
A simple shower curtain can be used, for example, while the money that is saved can be used to decorate the upstairs bathroom to my wife's satisfaction.
In sum, it is a good thing that I can come in late from my factory job and get cleaned up in the basement bathroom shower.
Yet, this simple scenario really shows how the advantages of having a basement bathroom shower are linked with the lifestyle of my two-earner family.
More than being utilitarian, a basement bathroom shower keeps peace in a busy family.

Great topic! Yes, there are many advantages, especially on the farm and for people who garden or work out doors. Good article...
Great article with sound reasons for a basement shower. This also had a musical/poetic rhythm that I enjoyed.
Wonderful idea. :)

Years ago I visited a farming family and was fascinated that they had a basement shower. It truly is a great idea.
Great article =0)
Great reasons to have a basement shower. I'm sold! The problem is, I don't have a basement. LOL Maybe someday I'll have my own house with a basement, and then I'll have a downstairs shower too. :)
We have a basement bathroom and shower. During the winter months, we shower down there because the water heats up quicker which makes it more energy efficient and less costly.
