The Advantages of Writing News Articles for Associated Content

Arthur Kirk
Associated Content is a great place to write articles. You can write about anything you want. Quite often you can write a large number of articles about your favorite hobbies and activities. The large variety of topics makes it easy for you to come up with ideas to write articles about, and also for Associated Content to see your content on-line to make money for both you and them. One type of article was sort of frowned on for awhile though by the content partners here at Associated Content, and that was news articles. To help get people to write these articles there were some special promotions run by Associated Content, and one continues. That one is that they will pay $5 for every news article you write that is approved.

This has resulted in more news articles being submitted recently to Associated Content which is a good thing. These are probably relatively easy for the site to sell and it generates extra traffic to the site. Hmm, did I mention traffic? Well, that's one of the biggest reasons for content producers to write news articles now for Associated Content. Remember, they are not only paying us $5 for the article, but also $1.50 per 1000 views of our article. If you write on a very popular topic your news article can make you much more in the long run than many of your other types of articles. Another advantage to content producers that write news articles is the fact that they are usually approved within a couple hours, and paid on the next payday. When you consider the fact that it can be five business days before articles of other types are approved and then possibly a few more days until a payday, news articles sometimes pay ten times faster than other articles.

Now there are a few things you need to keep in mind when writing news articles. The first item is they must have a broad appeal as far as audience and also as far as longevity. Obviously it's useless for Associated Content to pay us for an article that is just local news which has a short shelf life. Also keep in mind that news articles should be written at high quality levels. Writing styles for news articles are rather simple. There are two basic styles to follow, either the inverted pyramid, or the feature style.

The inverted pyramid answers the five key questions in the first paragraph and then starts with the most important facts in descending order in subsequent paragraphs. The five key questions are who, what, where, why, and when. These should all be answered in the first paragraph of a news article if they are applicable to the story. The other style is the feature style, these articles focus on one key aspect of the story and build the article around that fact. Quite often a feature story uses either a person or an event as it's subject to build the story around. Regardless of which one your article lends itself to, you must still concentrate on items such as spelling, grammar, and providing the information your reader requires.

Overall submitting news articles will benefit both content partners and Associated Content itself. In general they are quicker earners for the content producers and depending on the traffic they generate they are potentially larger earners than other articles. For Associated Content they are also very good traffic generators. I am not suggesting that you stop submitting all your other articles and concentrate on news articles only, by no means is that my advice. Yet, having a broad variety of articles will increase your popularity and increase your new bonuses Associated Content is paying out for page views.

  • News articles are approved faster and pay faster in general than other articles.
  • High page views of news articles will add to your new bonus payouts.
  • Keep in mind, news articles need to be well written to have broad appeal.
Two key points to remember about news articles: one is if they do not have broad enough appeal they will be rejected; the other is that quite often popular events get too many articles written and many are rejected, so you need to be quick.

seems the "mass appeal" is something they are very vague and ever changing on

too bad they didn't pay for my NC versus Purdue women's game because there wasn't "mass appeal." funny thing is they paid for mine about tennessee vs. Ole Miss which happened just a few hours before
