The Adventures of Adam Bee

Adam was a very bright bee, one of the smartest bees in Honey Hive. Every morning, Adam gets up, opens his window and smiles at the rising sun. The warmth of the sun gives him the energy he needs to roll out of bed, fluff his wings and fly down stairs to eat a delicious breakfast of honey and flowers that his mother prepares for him every morning.

Adam is always eager to get going because he loves to go to school and he loves learning. Today was going to be an especially fun day because today is library day! What was so exciting about this? Well, for Adam, it is his weekly opportunity to find a new book that will take his mind on a new adventure!

Last week, Adam selected a book about the ocean. In this book he learned about a large fish and a small fish, an octopus and; best of all a shark! He imagined that he was a great ocean explorer, travelling deep into the ocean in his submarine to explore to deepest parts of the ocean. He imagined that he encountered ocean creatures that no one had seen before and that he travelled so far under the ocean that when he returned to the surface, he was on the other side of the world!

Two weeks prior, Adam selected a book about outer space. In this book he learned about our solar system, the asteroids, the sun and even about life on Mars! In his mind, Adam was a spaceship captain rocketing through space to explore the farthest reaches of our galaxy. During his journey he landed on Mars, had lunch with aliens on Planet X, and defeated the hideous Gray Creatures from Planet ZuuZuu on the far side of the galaxy.

So what book will he select this week? As Adam and his classmates enter the library, Adam flies down several aisles reading book titles to see what adventure his next book will take him on. At the end of the fiction aisle lay a huge book that, in all of his trips to the library, he had never seen this book. Curious, Adam pulled the book from the shelf, carefully opened the cover, a flash of light surrounded him and, instantly, he vanished!
