The African Store Offers 250 Fragrances Available for Shampoos and Conditioners

Incense, perfume, cologne, candles and scented lotions are all great ways to set the mood, but how sexy is it when you lean over and he says, "I love the way your hair smells." Do you choose shampoos and conditioners that are equally able to clean your hair and have a tantalizing scent? The African Store located in Evergreen Plaza, 9500 S. Western St., in Evergreen Park has you covered.

The specialty store has over 250 fragrances used in body oils, aromatherapy fragrance salts, bubble bath, lotion, shea butter and body wash. The African Store also sells shampoo and conditioner fragrances.

How safe is this product to put in your hair?

"It's like if you buy anybody else's shampoo or conditioner with a fragrance except our shampoo and conditioner is without the adverse side effects," said co-owner of the husband-and-wife team, Steve.

The African Store uses regular, plain shampoo, puts in the customer's selected body oil, shakes it up and it's ready to use. For customers who like more than one fragrance, Steve confirms that "they can add a dash of this and a dash of that."

Several popular fragrances in The African Store include Piña Colada, Eat It Raw, Hot and Juicy, Jamaican Fruit, Lemon, Love Spell, Lick Me All Over, Mango Butter, Oxygen and Tangy Tang. Click here to read reviews of those fragrance oils.

Shampoo, conditioner and body wash line a circular shelf near the front of the store, but if customers don't see the one they want, an alternate one can be made right in the store within a matter of minutes.
