The Aim of Video Conferencing

Thanks to technology, communication has been made easier, faster and very convenient. Today you don't have to send and wait for a telegram to get a message. Phones have been invented for communication and today, even one can communicate through the web e.g. video conferencing.

Video conferencing is a technique allowing different parties communicate as they see and hear each other in real time. Video conferencing will require one to have a microphone, camera, speakers, a processor and the necessary software, which can be bought singly or as a package.

The reason for using video conferencing as a mode of communication varies with different industries. Starting with social online dating sites, today you do not only read a potential partner's profile, you can talk to them in reality instantaneously.

The education industry uses video conferencing for distance learning as not everyone can make it to lecture halls for their various degrees due to distance, busy schedules or financial inabilities. On the other hand, firms as those conducting market researches can easily tabulate responses from different parts where the respondents are located, thus releasing the results quickly. Most corporations use video conferencing to communicate with stakeholders and make business resolutions.

Hospitals similarly use video conferencing to discuss the condition of patients and get viable solutions on what can be done to assist the patients. The justice department uses video conferencing to obtain witnesses testimony against suspects, thus they don't have to appear physically in court.

In addition to talking, video conferencing has the provision of sharing files where two parties can view the same document and create changes directly. Video conferencing works as a virtual board room because you can even use the white board to write down whatever you wish. Equally, the technique allows you to browse the internet, playback previous sessions, view slide presentations and even send out SMS messages.

It is true that ten years ago, the invention couldn't't be accessible to everyone as it was expensive. But today, with less than $10,000, you can use it as much as you wish. Research is still going on about how video conferencing can be improved and made better than it is so that it can be more convenient and people can enjoy it.

In spite of how video conferencing is used, the main aim is to create an instant connection between two parties, at different locations conveniently. As a result, it has increased productivity, fostered relationships and has substantially cut down on costs otherwise incurred where employees would have to travel on business trips.

Advantages of video conferencing are numerous hence everyone should use it, but first one should establish the main purpose of needing video conferencing. If you cannot buy a video conferencing set for reasons only known to you, you can access it from places where it is offered to the general public.
