The ALCAT Test Can Determine What You Are Allergic To

It Tests for Food Allergies and Environmental Causes

My mother was allergic to shellfish. She had never eaten any so she didn't know. On her 74th birthday I decided to take her out to dinner. That was something that I never had done before. I asked her where she wanted to go and she said Red Lobster. So that's where we went. She ordered the crab legs and lobster special and said that she loved it.

The very next day she was in the hospital. She had broken out in hives. There were big red splotches all over her. At the hospital she remarked: "That was very nice of you, but do me a favor, don't ever take me out to dinner again!"

I am also allergic to some food items as well. The only one that I know about is the food additive MSG, that salty stuff that some Chinese restaurants use. It is also the main ingredient in Accent flavor enhancer. There must be some other food items as well because sometimes when I go into a grocery store, I'll start coughing and sneezing my brains out. Something is causing me to do that, but I haven't figured out what yet.

I probably should go and get an ALCAT test. According to the Healthy Planet Magazine: "One man's food is another man's poison." This is precisely how we defined the purpose of the ALCAT test. The concept that "good food, " even when it is organic and "free range," may be hurting you, is why everyone should have an ALCAT."

When you have an allergic reaction to food it's because your immune system has a response to that particular food. As far as symptoms go, it's the same as with seasonal allergies: all the symptoms aren't caused by the pollen and mold, but rather by your immune system's response to it.

An overactive immune system can cause other problems as well like digestive disorders, type 1 diabetes, Lupus, and a variety of other ills, some of them serious. The reaction to allergens can also cause an inflammatory response and inflammation has also been linked to a lot of health problems including heart disease.

The ALCAT test measures the body's immune system response to 200 different foods. It also measures your reaction to environmental toxins, over-the-counter herbal medications, and food additives like the MSG that makes me itch terribly all over my body if I consume it.

How does it work? The ALCAT test actually mixes your white blood cells with all of the potential triggers of your immune system. If there is an allergy, the white blood cells will "attack" the allergens. The ones that they attack and try to destroy are the ones that you are allergic to.

Since some reactions to foods can take several days to manifest themselves, it's sometimes hard to determine which foods caused the reaction. That's why the ALCAT test is so valuable.
