The All Nighter

Jon Campos
Procrastination forces me now
up such steep hills to fight.
A great assignment presses down
and tests my will this night.

These blank white pages, ten in all,
that lie before me now.
Before the dawn must sing with words,
dear God I know not how.

With haste I clear my cluttered room
and close myself within.
A place to make my desperate stand,
this final night begin.

The ticking clock that drives me on
and brings from me my best.
Reminds me all my time is dear,
I dare not take a rest.

In deepest night my mind unlocks
to save the situation.
But my thoughts are sapped, my strength is gone,
drained by my creation.

I can relate to this. I am a master at the art of procrastination. I just finished two finals that were due by midnight and I waited until 10 p.m. to start! Nice job... :-)

Nicely done. I seem to work best under time pressure.
