The Nokia E7 boast great features such as a physical QWERTY keyboard, great camera quality, and added business features, but hiding under the surface is several features that can truly be holding the Nokia E7 smartphone back.
Symbian
While most modern smartphones run on popular operating systems such as Android, iOS, WebOS, or Blackberry, the Nokia E7 smartphone runs on the Symbian operating system. The Symbian operating platform is falling behind its many competitors in terms of software apps, efficiency, and support '" and with many smartphone options on the market, opting for one with a seemingly inferior operating system might not be the best choice.
Touchscreen Response Time
The Nokia E7 sports a large 4 inch OLED full-color display and while it might be a vibrant and beautiful display, it's one of the most complained about features of this smartphone. The Nokia E7's touchscreen is reportedly "laggy", has slow response time, and has been known to freeze up from time to time. With the touchscreen display being the primary way of interacting with a smartphone, the buggy touchscreen of the Nokia E7 leaves a lot to be desired.
Non-Expandable Memory
The average modern smartphone offers up to 8 GB of internal storage space (with room for expansion via a memory card), but the Nokia double the norm by equipping the E7 with 16GB of internal memory by default '" but there's a catch. While the Nokia E7 offers a default of 16GB of storage space, it has no expansion slots and is limited to 16GBs, while most modern phone can expand up to 40GBs (via a 32GB memory card upgrade).
Battery Life
Most phones can use an upgrade in the battery department, and this definitely holds true for the Nokia E7 Symbian smartphone. The E7 features a 1200 mAh battery and while its closest competitors are able to offer 10+ hours of max battery time, the Nokia E7 can only meet the demand half-way with a paltry 5 hours of max talk time (and less when running apps).
Processing Speed
Not only does the E7 have mediocre touchscreen response time, but its processor isn't that responsive either. It's not uncommon to spot a dual-core smartphone on the market nowadays (or at least a 1GHz single core processor), but the Nokia E7 only boasts a 680 MHz ARM 11 single core processor, that's a lot slower than what it's many competitors are known to offer.
