The All-Time Worst Features of the Pantech Crossover Smartphone

Lacking Features of the Pantech Crossover Android Phone

If you're looking for a small budget AT&T smartphone with a Slider keyboard, the Pantech Crossover might not seem like a bad option, but consider its poor features before making the Pantech Crossover your primary smartphone.

Small Display

The number one feature that is bound to catch a smartphone shopper's attention is a prospective smartphone's display and with the display being the main way of interacting with a smartphone, it's not shocking why it's such an important feature. Unfortunately the Pantech Crossover's display is slightly smaller than the standard 3.5 inch display and way smaller than new 4+ inch smartphones with a paltry 3.1 inch display.

Subpar Hardware

The display size of the Pantech Crossover isn't the only lacking feature of the Pantech Crossover, which has a paltry 600 MHz processor, 496 MB of internal storage, a 3 megapixel camera, and a lacking 1500 mAh battery under the hood. With the poor hardware of the Pantech Crossover, you might want to skip using this phone at all and "crossover" to a better smartphone.

Low Quality Camera

In the near future, smartphone cameras just may replace digital cameras as the go-to cameras of most consumers, and if you're looking to make the switch from digital camera to camera phone, the Pantech Crossover isn't the smartphone for you. The Pantech Crossover features a subpar 3 megapixel camera, while 5 megapixels is the current standard and it's not uncommon to find smartphones with 8, 10, and 12 megapixel cameras.

Battery Life

A phone's battery life is its life blood and no matter if you have the most technologically advanced and state of the art smartphone, if its battery is lacking, it'll significantly decrease the user experience of the smartphone. The Pantech Crossover has a less than average 1500 mAh battery that offers a maximum of 5 hours of talk time (and less when using apps) and with smartphones that peak over 10+ hours, the 5 hours of battery life offered with the Pantech Crossover is a bit undesirable.

Slow Networking Speed

AT&T isn't known for having the fastest networking speeds (or great smartphones for that matter) and performance of the Pantech Crossover is reportedly slow. The Pantech Crossover relies on 3G and Wi-Fi internet access and doesn't support 4G access. If you're on a local Wi-Fi connection, using the Pantech Crossover isn't all that bad, but the Crossover's speed is almost unbearable over AT&T's 3G network.
