Amazing Journey: The Story Of The Who follows four British men on a quest to become rock icons. The road traveled for Pete Townshend, Roger Daltrey, Keith Moon and John Entwistle is one packed full of curves and turns and their journey can be best described as a long and winding road.
The story follows the illustrious careers and insightful lives of each member in the group as depicted as a record player turning out each song in order. Each song is symbolized as a new chapter in the lives of The Who.
Expect to see four, bushy-haired teenagers from London playing their hearts out to the blues as a 60s pub cover band. Going from The Detours to the High Numbers to The Who, watch these teens turn into rock pioneers. It all started with "I Can't Explain", their first hit single, which is ironic now because the British rock group goes down in history as one of the best. Their fame and success can definitely be explained now and their story will speak for itself.
Witness never-before-seen footage of the band, including rare concert clips. Also see interviews with all four original members along with commentary from family and friends. Special guests are also included giving their praise toward one of the best in the music biz and they are: Sting, U2's The Edge, Pearl Jam's Eddie Vedder and Oasis' Noel Gallagher just to name a few.
On Amazing Journey: Six Quick Ones, go behind the minds of each member in the group to see their individual talents and even genius characteristics. Pete Townshend smashing up his guitars on stage while being the mastermind and key writer behind The Who, Roger Daltrey being the look and voice of the group, actually finding his true voice and real identity for the band when Tommy came out, Keith Moon with his crazy and erratic drumming style playing loud and to every verse rather than just be the conventional backbeat of the song and John Entwistle playing his bass guitar like no one ever had before and reinventing himself and his instrument. This is what makes the group so special and what makes The Who so revolutionary.
There is much, much more on each DVD, including bonus features so don't miss your chance to own a piece of history for only $29.98. Total running time is nearly four hours and comes in Dolby Digital 5.1 Surround Sound for your complete listening pleasure. David Wild of Rolling Stone called this 2-Film DVD Box Set "Brilliant" and I agree, but will raise that to a complete masterpiece of rock history. The Who are amazing and have had had one heck of a long journey, check it out for yourself!
