The Amazing Race is Back on Top in Action Packed Germany Leg

Reality Rehash
The Amazing Race turned to its greatness tonight with an action packed episode that actually made me want to watch. Ok so the challenges still weren't all that hard, but they were at least fun to watch and with the outcome I couldn't be any happier. It all began in Argentina where the group split off onto three different flights to Hamburg, Germany. Arriving first were the Cowboys and Detectives who were the first to discover that two teams must intersect. This one was a bit different though as one person from two different teams would pair up to complete a Road Block together. It's a nice twist on the Intersection and worked out better then I expected.

With Jet and Michael pairing up it was city meeting country and lucky for Jet considering he had to take the metro, and to him that was a town. The other teams arrived at the Intersection as well with Allie/Joe pairing up, Brandy/Dan pairing up and Caite/Jordan pairing up. All got to the bungee jump ok, except for the two ladies Caite and Jordan. I mean that isn't the smarter two in the bunch and letting Catie lead, Jordan kind of put her fate into Caite's hands. They ended up going on the train that was traveling in the opposite direction, putting them behind but luckily it didn't affect them TOO much.

After the bungee the teams returned to their real partners and were off to the Detour. One thing to note is that Joe's knee came out of its socket during the jump, it affected his Detour performance but the two still did well overall. After reforming the teams they were then off to their Detour: Kick a few soccer balls through targets or Eat a plate of sauerkraut before a polka song ends. Teams split off evenly the two tasks with the sauerkraut being easy, if you could eat fast, while the soccer being easy if you could kick straight. Here are some interesting tidbits from the Detour.

Jeff and Jordan got lost on the way to the Detour, well actually their taxi did. He had the wrong location in his GPs, auto-putting them in last place. Several teams tried the sauerkraut and finished rather quickly, with one person shoveling it in while another kind of just tried it. At the soccer challenge Joe couldn't kick thanks to his leg, so he and Heidi switched to the kraut. Caite also had trouble as she got a cramp in her one leg. This pissed her off, according to her, as her soccer ego had her playing since she was five years old. Jeff and Jordan couldn't have any luck as they tried the kraut, couldn't eat it fast enough, and moved on to the soccer. Further into last place now.

After completing their Detour teams then had to drink a boot filled with beer. It was a simple task but had several teams hung up. For instance the Cowboys never drink, so that beer put them behind a few places. It also put Brent out into the street as he had to drink it all himself, even after puking. The Detectives had no problems with it, either did Steve. You probably don't know who Steve is though, it's ok. I didn't either. With the Detectives coming back from last place, Caite/Brent being super shocked about still being in the game and Jeff/Jordan being saved (thank God) from elimination thanks to a non-elimination leg. The Amazing Race is FINALLY back and I'm happier then ever. Please no more fake animals, I just hope it gets better from here.
