The American Bullnese

TommiH
Description:

The American Bullnese is a small breed of dog. It looks like a cross between the American Bulldog and the pug. With the face of a pug and the body of an American bulldog, the Bullnese would make one cute pet dog. The American Bullnese has short, rough to the touch, fur that comes in white or cream. The dogs' hips and shoulders protrude greatly. And now, to top off the rest of the body, the Bullnese has a short, curly, pug - like tail.

Average life span:

The American Bullnese lives an average life span of 10 to 15 years of age. They tend to live 14 or 15 years rather than 10. The Bullnese, if improperly cared for, can die at an early age of 9 or 10 years. Sometimes these dogs grow ill, which will cause an early death, too.

Weight:

The Bullnese male will weigh to be 18 - 30 pounds (8.5 - 14 kg), and the female will weigh 15 - 25 pounds (7 - 11kg). It is VERY important that your Bullnese stays between its weight limits. These dogs are known to become over weight easily, which will cause health problems. Try not to allow your Bullnese to go 3 pounds under its weight limits or 5 pounds over its weight limits. This will guarantee that your dog is healthy diet wise.

Height:

Male American Bullnese only grow to stand a whole whopping 9.5 - 12 inches (23 - 31 cm) tall. The Female Bullnese will grow to be 8.5 - 11 inches (21 - 28cm) tall. These dogs normally do not grow to be taller than their maximum height limits. Some Bullnese are born dwarfed, rarely, and will only reach to be 5 - 7 inches tall.

Temperament:

The American Bullnese has a nickname that some people refer to the breed as; skippers. Why? Due to the fact that American Bullnese has short, stumpy legs and a wide body, so it tends to skip rather than run. This skip/run fits perfectly with its true personality because it has a slight clownish personality. This dog is laid back, lap - liking, and face licking; perfect breed of dog for families. They tend to enjoy children, though this depends on the dogs' individual personality.

All in all:

The American Bullnese makes a great apartment dog due to the fact they are inactive indoors and can do without a hard; they're small, as well. They make great family dogs for people with small homes and small children; they make great pets for people with large homes and older children. This dog can be litter trained for the people without a backyard.
