American Girl has free online games designed just for girls called Fun for Girls where little girls can play games to their heart's content or at least until it's time to do homework. Many of these games are not only hilarious fun but very educational. Clearly American Girl is not just a place for profit but a place to build a young girls esteem, knowledge and enjoyment of imaginative play.
American Girl Place offers education, in history, crafting and fine dining for refined and not so refined young ladies.
I had the honor of attending my eldest granddaughter's birthday there last October and she still raves about it.
Our experience included, picking out a doll, having the doll's hair done in the salon, buying matching outfits for the doll, and having a wonderful and I do mean gourmet birthday celebration including a fabulous cake; not only beautiful but delicious also. It helps if you invite the grandparents- as they won't be able to resist contributing.
There are many dolls in themed cases with historically based stories, such as Addy. She escaped slavery with her mother or Molly McIntire who grows up in World War II. All the dolls come with books about their adventures. I like to think of it as an early museum experience.
American Girl usually has a philanthropic offering as well, such as American Girl partnering with National Wildlife FederationĀ® to promote Be Out Thereā¢- Lanie, and the National Wildlife Federation encourages girls to Be Out There. Out Where? Out in nature of course! So don't miss these fabulous freebie events at American Girl and don't forget to enjoy the entertainment at The Grove in Los Angeles. There's something for everyone.
The last time we were there they had rabbit races just outside American Girl- yes dangling a carrot really does work. They also had a wonderful Jazz Quartet. You never know what you're going to get at 'The Grove' in Los Angeles but it's sure to be a pleasure for young and old alike- and best of all much of the entertainment is free just like the wonderful freebie events at American Girl.
In short- American Girl is the American Dream- Something for everyone- no matter your economic status. So remember these free, free, free events and have some quality time with your little girl at American Girl.

Post a CommentMy experience with these dolls (through my niece)is that, as with other offerings of corporate America designed for children, one's economic status certainly does matter.
Good that you were able to give your granddaughter such a fun experience.
Sounds like a very fun time! Good to see you back online.
This sounds like such a fun time! I need a little granddaughter to go do foo-foo things with! Glad you're back!
Sounds sweet.
Awsome piece, though I was never really a dolly girl type. Sounds like a fabulouse girl fest. Good to see you writing again.
Good info on this store for girls of all ages.
My granddaughter, Audrey, has the Addy doll. She's been to the American Girl store twice (in Chicago) since she turned four a year and a half ago. I've never been there. I had no idea they had so much going on besides dressing the little girls to look like their dolls.
What a fun venue for little girls and their folks!
