The first to go for the night was Garrett Haley. It appears that the Sanjaya fiasco from American Idol Season 6 will not be repeated this year. Garrett seems like a nice enough young man but, his vocals just couldn't cut it for most American Idol fans.
American Idol contestant Amy Davis was the next to be voted off. I cannot say that I am that surprised to see her departure so soon. American Idol fans did not have a hard decision when they decided not to vote for Amy. While she seems like a sweetheart she just didn't have what it takes to make it to the next round.
American Idol viewers were then treated to Paula Abdul's new music video for "Dance Like There's No Tomorrow". The music video itself was a treat for the eyes and the song was catchy as well. As I was watching Paula's video on American Idol results show I was reminded of music by Madonna (Ray of Light) and Jennifer Lopez.
Next it was back to revealing the voting results on American Idol. Ryan asked for both Amanda Overmyer and Joanne Borgella to stand up. Just when you expected for Ryan to ask these American Idol contestants to sit down because they were safe, they were told that one of them would go home. As it ends up it is Joanne Borgella who has been voted off of American Idol. It was a bit of a shock to see Joanne go. While Joanne wasn't one of the best I felt, and predicted, that Kady Malloy should have gone in her place.
The last guy to go was between American Idol contestants Colton Berry and Chikezie. It was a tough choice between these two Idol contestants as to which one should be voted off. Unfortunately for Colton Berry he did not make it on to the next round. If I were Chikezie however I wouldn't rest easy just yet. He will have to perform much better if he wants a chance to stay on American Idol a little longer.
So there you have it the four American Idol contestants who have been voted off this week. Be sure to tune in next week as the guys will once again take the stage on Tuesday night and the girls on Wednesday night.

Post a CommentI have been watching Idol since the first season and have seen soo many talented people get voted off, people seem to only focus on cutsie and favoritsm or pity factor, and simply they don't vote for the good ones thinking they are safe. Lily Scott was an incredible talented woman, she knew where she was as an artist. Yet I see some who remained that are struggling to sing and find out who they are. I think they should bring Lily back!!! Please, she was amazing. If not she should be discovered.
personally i don't think joanne should have gotten voted off she was better than the other 1
the 2 i think should go is Amanda Overmeyer (is that right?) and chikeze i've checked alot of stats and the top 3 so far (which could very well change easily ) as far as who america wants to win is #1 David Archuleta (i hope that stays that way lol) #2 Michael John and #3 Jason Castro (i really hope he moves up to #2) for some odd reason the girls aren't doing that great some are good but not as good as they should be
Excellent update. I haven't kept up with this show, wish I had.
Thanks for the recap. I have been out of the Idol loop this time.
Thanks for the recap. I dozed off halfway through.
I'm not attached to any of them yet. Great recap!
