The American Red Cross and Raytown Mid-Continent Library Team Up to Give Flu Shots

It's that Time of the Year Again

Raytown and surrounding area residents in the Greater Kansas City Metropolitan area now have an opportunity to get flu shots at the Mid-Continent Library in Raytown, MO.

WHEN: Thursday, October 6, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. and Tuesday, October 25, 2011 at 1:00 p.m.

HIGHLIGHTS:

The American Red Cross of Kansas City will be giving the flu shots. No appointment is necessary. Please note that these scheduled dates are contingent on the receipt of the vaccine. You are advised to contact the library a few days ahead to check the status.

The Red Cross accepts the following:

Medicare Part B

Railroad Medicare

Coventry

Humana Gold or Gold Plus and Advantra

You should bring your insurance card if you would like your insurance company to be billed. And if your particular carrier is not on the aforementioned listed plans, the fee will be $30.00. You will be given a receipt to turn in for reimbursement from your insurance company.

Flu Shots Given to:

Adults 18 and over

Students 16 or 17 can receive one if they have a doctor's order for the shot. They must bring the order in.

    I'm avoiding the flu shot. I lost a client to a bad reaction and haven't had one since. Anyway, my exposure to others is limited.
