The Americorps Million Trees Incentive for New York City
We Need a Million More Trees
Americorps what it does to to increase literacy, public awareness of various life skills and job-related skills, as well as to improve parks.
Bette Midler, her Americorps program is called the "Million Trees Incentive". This is a hope and a dream towards creating beauty within New York City, which is built, for the most part, on what is still some of the best horticultural property in the world.
The Jewish National Fund, the planting of trees program in Israel has a similar program to this one.
The million trees incentive for New York City is a good one, and is looking for paid volunteers for this program that starts in October. The period of service will be one year, and students will be given an educational award towards paying their student loans or college tuition.
We can help in various ways, by donating goods and services and cash, or by volunteering our time and efforts towards the Americorps planting a million trees incentive. We can also help out in other ways, such as by applying to work for this "Million Trees" program or various other programs hosted by Americorps.
