The Anatomy of Love

Lucy Tonic

Comes naturally, like the sun. Invisible lighthouses on the run. A province in progress. Some never find it. A four letter word or a two letter word. Someone who looks good wearing your future. A liability. A seed that prematurely blooms. When you're young you crave it, in school days you stave it, as a teen you're slave to it, in your last days you're braver for it. An inhuman experiment to draw us away from ourselves. Never feeling whole- looking outwards always to find the missing piece. The sky, when we love ourselves. The abyss, when we're consumed by it in another. The ocean, when we're dragged down by it. Fierce, strong and sweet.
