The beads of sweat begin to drip down her forehead and caress her face like the soft touch of rose petals. Her hair is now dripping in sweat and she doesn't mind as it clings to her face.
He is standing at the other end of the room but he can see her through the cloud of cigarette smoke. He watches her as she dances. Other women approach him but he sees only her and he only wants her. A feeling swept over him, perhaps it was love at first sight, perhaps it was merely lust; in any case He knows that she is the one. He had finally found the one that he has spent what seems to be a life time searching for.
The outdated disco ball shines and shimmers above, sending soft blue beams of light against her skin. The light gives her an angelic appearance.
He watches her with more intensity. He begins to imagine himself holding her in his muscular arms, her small slim body looking almost childlike against his large frame. As he looks around the dance floor he notices that he towers over many of the men in the club.
He pulls at his tailored suit, smooths his hair and begins to walk towards her. Another woman steps in his path and ask him to dance and as quick as the woman asks he rejects her offer almost throwing her out of his way. His mind is made up, there is only one Angel in his sight tonight. He has waited long enough, he was making his move and no one could stop him.
The speakers that blared the dance music also shook the floor. He too let the beat of the music move him as he danced his way towards her. He can see her features more clearly as he gets closer to her. Now he can see the skin of her shoulders showing through her low cut shirt and he knows her skin must feel like satin. He yearns to caress her skin. He sees her lips and knows that lips so full and plump like hers must be soft and sweet, he cant wait to taste them. He shivers as her beauty stuns him.
The crowd on the floor shifts as he dances closer and closer to her. Now he is so close to her that he can smell her perfume. He concentrates and wills her to turn and look at him. Something made her turn, and in an instant their eyes met. Something about his piercing blue eyes hypnotized her. She couldn't look away. She did not want to look away. He smiles at her and she begins to melt inside. He has the most brilliant and amazing smile she has ever seen. She didn't fight the overwhelming desire that she had to dance with this stranger. She wanted to dance with him as much as he wanted to dance with her. He could see this in her eyes and he knew that he had her in the palm of his hands.
He moved closer to her, their body's almost touching. They danced for hours and she had no intention of stopping. She had never danced with a man who could move this way. She never took her eyes away from his and they never spoke a word to each other.
An announcement was heard throughout the club, it was last call and in only a few moments the club would be clearing out for the night. As the music slowed and the crowd quieted she came to her senses and remembered to ask this stranger his name. At that moment, as the lights began to brighten she glanced down. Expecting to see expensive shoes to go with his tailored suit, she was stunned speechless. She couldn't say anything, she couldn't scream.
She was finally able to let out a blood curdling scream so loud that the remaining crowd turned and looked at her to see what had happened. They too saw what she saw and began to scream in terror. The room was filled with screams of horror and the sound of hundreds of footsteps running towards the exits, yet she stood there next to her dance partner frozen.
She doesn't know why but, she cannot run. She is terrified. The black suit he wore was now the crimson color of blood. The feet that she had looked for were not feet at all, they were hoofs. His hoofs were those of what seemed to be a goat, they bent backwards at the knees, and were covered in prickly and coarse looking hair.
He finally answers her question, and says "my name is well known my dear, but it is I that has a question for you". She stammered as she spit out one word "what?". She noticed that the smile that was once brilliant was now dull and full of sharp and jagged teeth. Again he spoke to her in a terrifyingly deep voice and asked her, "tell me my dear, did you enjoy dancing with the Angel of darkness?" He laughed aloud, and said "I'm such a little devil" and I'm all yours." She let out one last blood curdling scream as she fell into his arms. In that instant they were both gone.
The police arrived but did not find anyone in the club. All they found was the pungent smell of sulfur and what looked like a trail of smoke. The police looked around and at each other in stunned silence as they heard a faint laugh that faded into the night. The woman was never to be seen again.
