The Animal Within

Deborah Coss
They turned on the tape recorder, and pushed the coffee mug toward him -
Then they asked what they had to ask, watching him intensely, judging his sin.
Looking for a reaction, any reaction at all, that would prove that he was human
They wanted to prove him sane and not just a crazy animal after all.
But he looked into their eyes, And spoke with a grin,
He spoke the horrendous truth & he revealed the horrible animal dwelling within.
Normal folks would want to wretch and run
But this animal was feeling the fun had just begun.
He had been caught and knew he would pay.
But hell they had all asked for it, what could he say.
He is ruled by forces we'll never know,
And when they put him to death, it will be a show.
It's a circle that has yet to be broken.
For in the days of old the truth was boldly spoken.
There was a day, when truly a third of those in heaven,
Were cast out, and God revoked from them, his blessin'.
Those evil spirits are still angry and demand what they think they are due.
And they aim to get it whether it's from me or from you.
If you have any doubts, if demons still live,
Walk down death row, but look out for what they are willing to give.
Those demons are not bound to one soul.
And your damnation is their reason for being, their sole purpose and goal.

Vivid again, I truly feel like I am there. I am assuming this would be the description of a sociopath? Enjoyed, Christina.
