The Apple IPhone

Amber Domke
Even though I am somewhat young and it is the year 2009 I am technologically challenged. Up until last year I was still using an old desktop computer and was quite happy with it. The next thing I know I am buying a laptop and it was an Apple. I love everything about this computer and I will never go back to using any other kind of computer. When I got my computer I also got the iPod touch and I really liked it. I didn't use it for much other then listening to my music when I was running or cleaning around the house. I think the kids got more use out of it by using all the applications I downloaded onto it. At this point I'm learning that I really like the Apple products.

Now my cell phone was just a plain old ordinary cell phone. It did nothing fancy and I didn't need it to. I just needed to be able to talk on it, send texts and take pictures of the kids. It did all that. I was content with it even when I saw everyone else using their fancy phones. I had no intention of getting a new phone anytime soon. Well, my husband was out of town for work and my cell phone literally just quit working. We don't have a home phone so I knew that I needed to go get a new phone right then. I packed up my kids and we headed over to the next town to the AT&T store. My initial plan was just to get in there, grab a cheap phone that was decent and get out of there. I started looking around and I didn't like any of the phones I saw, but I wasn't willing to pay $200 for the iPhone. I looked and looked and looked and was just about to grab some cheap thing when I decided to just bite the bullet and get the iPhone. i didn't really want it, but figured I'd just give it to my husband if I ended up not liking it.

Let me just tell you I am so happy I ended up getting the iPhone. I love it. I wasn't so sure the first couple of days. I think it actually took me a few weeks to get used to it, but I love it. My favorite thing is the fact that I have the internet at my fingertips no matter where I am. If I need to look up something it's right there. I can also get the weather forecast for the week with one click of a button. That's very handy if I don't have time to get online and see what the weather will be like. It has a ton of applications that you can get and several of them are free. I can't tell you how much time I've spent playing games or reading while just sitting around waiting. It has iTunes right there so if I hear a song on the radio I like I can just type it in and purchase it instead of having to remember to buy the song once I'm home. It's just a very handy phone to have with all the neat applications you can get. Having access to facebook anytime I want is something I really enjoy also. I can take pictures and most of the time they come out great and I can upload them right then. I have a four and five year old so I take a lot of pictures so I love that I can do that.

The only problem I have is that I bought my phone a few months before the new one came out. I didn't have a choice as far as waiting to get a new phone. My husband got the newer phone and he can take videos on his and I wish I could do that on mine. My four year old is very dramatic and likes attention and she often says to me "Mommy take a video." She doesn't understand why daddy can and I can't. I have no complaints about the phone. I'd highly recommend it to anyone. I'm very glad that I gave it a try even though I was very leery about it!
