How Apples Help Alleviate Water Retention
Apples can help relieve water retention for a few reasons. Apples are naturally loaded with water, and when absorbed by the body it has the same effect as drinking water. Eating just one won't help, but eating one in between each meal can get the process started. Not only will the natural water content of the apple help, but the fact that apples are high in fiber will help keep waste moving out of the body. When you are constipated you will begin to swell or retain water. Many who experience this constipation will get swelling in their ankles and even a distended belly.
It is not always easy to get someone to eat an apple, but apples are processed into many forms whether the raw apple, apple juice, or even apple sauce. The apple is always best in its purest form and with the peeling on. Once the peeling is removed or they are processed into applesauce you lose some of the nutrients. Sugars and preservatives usually get added, and when buying the juice try to drink only the raw, unfiltered apple juice.
Apples for Weight Loss
Apples are effective for weight loss in several different ways. For one, they are very high in fiber, so eating an apple in between each meal will help you feel fuller faster, and will keep waste moving through the body. When waste doesn't move through the body you can become constipated and this will cause you to retain water and gain weight.
Apples are also effective in aiding with the HCG diet. The HCG diet is very rigid, and a half apple is usually what one would eat for breakfast. However, there is also one little known trick that these people use once they have done once they hit a stopping point in losing weight. To help restart the weight loss, an apple day is designated in which the individual can only drink pure water and eat an apple every three hours. The apples are usually to be large ones and only eaten if someone is struggling with hunger. I have done this and it works extremely well, even after going into the maintenance phase.
Apples are good for you regardless, but they do have several benefits. Be sure to read about apples and which ones contain less natural sugars before you get started. Also, be careful that you don't add anything to the apple to make it sweeter, because it is always better in its natural state.
