I sent my mom by with the plates on the following Monday. According to a third lady who works there, neither of the other two ladies was there and they never are on Mondays. She also expressed interest in the collector plates. However, she did not have the authority to purchase them. She told my mom a different day to come by to reach the lady who purchases collector plates.
My mom went by on that day. It wasn't much of a surprise that again neither lady was there. It was becoming quite frustrating to try to track down the necessary employee.
I called the store back on what happened to be a Monday. The lady that I originally spoke with happened to be there. I told her how my mom went by there twice and what she was told. I went on to explain how it was unfair to tell us when to come by and then no one be there who could purchase the plates.
After some light arguing, the lady finally admitted that it was a hit or miss to catch herself and the lady who purchases collector plates. She said that we had to just keep trying.
I admitted that I felt like they were playing games. It seemed as if they weren't really interested in plates, but wanted us to keep coming back in the hopes of us buying something. I told her that I didn't appreciate her underhanded tricks and lies.
While my mom had been in The Appomattox Gallery prior to this, I have never been in their store. After my experience with them over the phone, I never will. If the customer service is that bad over the phone, I can't imagine what it would be like in person.
