Bad Comedian, Bad Leader

Misti Sandefur
Gold Rush members, Lee and Dan were absent from the task so they could observe the Jewish New Year. Also observing the Jewish New Year was George - standing in for George was Bill. Lenny was also Jewish, but he chose not to observe the holiday, instead he chose to help his team, and he told Lee and Dan they were just using the Jewish New Year for an excuse not work.

When Synergy was told there was no skeet shooting allowed in the park they had to come up with another plan, and they chose golf cart racing as a last-minute replacement. I don't know why skeet shooting was planned to begin with. What made Synergy think they could actually shoot guns in an area where children played, and in an area where there were a lot of people? I would have never suggested that idea - it was a very dangerous idea.

Gold Rush lost the task, and Synergy won. I think Gold Rush's ultimate down-fall was one, not knowing their product, and two, the comedian. As a matter of fact, I think the biggest down-fall for them was the comedian. The comedian they chose made many jokes that were not funny, instead her jokes offended the dealers/owners.We all know picking on people, groups and etc.. is a big thing with comedians, but did this comedian go about things the wrong way? I think she did. I think the comedian's material should have been planned differently.

Synergy's reward involved swimming with the sharks. However, Brent got very nervous, but he did get into the cage, and once inside, he seemed terrified. Everything worked out though; Brent made it out without becoming "shark bait."

While in the boardroom, Mr. Trump told Charmaine that she should have had Lenny as her comedian, because he was funnier. He also said it would have been free. I couldn't believe my ears when I heard they had paid the comedian $1700. I don't think that comedian was worth $1700, and I agreed with Mr. Trump when he said Lenny probably would have made a better comedian; at least he wouldn't have insulted the dealers/owners.

In the end, Theresa was fired, but Mr. Trump did tell her, her biggest mistake was not bringing Charmaine back into the boardroom. I think if Theresa had brought Charmaine in she may have been given another chance, and Charmaine would have been "fired" instead. Then again, they both may have been fired. Theresa not only didn't lead her team well, she also had no theme, and honestly, I don't think she had an actual plan either.

Before I end this week's discussion, I would like to add, beginning today, I will be ending each week's discussion with a business tip, or some type of business advice. This week's business tip, "know your product!" Do your homework on any product or service you plan to sell, because you should always "know your product" before presenting it. This is the one thing that Gold Rush failed to do this week.
