A Jingle for Arbys

Misti Sandefur
Upon their return from the boardroom, Tarek told his team that he thought they were bringing him back to the boardroom because he was the strongest, and because they felt threatened by him. That wasn't the case, and his team mates couldn't believe he had said that.

Everyone, expect for Lee (observed another Jewish holiday), met with Mr. Trump for their task. The task they were given was to create a musical jingle for Arby's new all-natural chicken line. Two of Arby's executives judged each teams work.

Gold Rush got on the ball by setting up an appointment to meet with Arby's executives, but when it came time for their meeting, Gold Rush arrived 25 minutes late, and Arby's executives weren't happy. Gold Rush tried to ignore the fact that they were late, but it failed when one of Arby's executives confronted them. Gold Rush told the executives they weren't familiar with the city, and because of this they didn't know how long it would take.
Geesh, what an excuse! I've never even been to a big city before (I'm from a small town), but even I would have had enough sense to know you leave early in the cities, especially New York City.

Synergy also met with the executives to get information from them, and to learn more about the new natural chicken line. They were on time, unlike Gold Rush.

After their meeting with the executives, Gold Rush decided to work on their jingle, however, they had problems coming up with one. Lenny kept throwing out ideas that his team mates didn't like. It was no surprise that Lenny's team didn't like his ideas, because Lenny didn't even know or understand what a jingle was, but I give Lenny credit for trying.

Eventually, Charmaine and Leslie began to work together at the piano, and they finally came up with a jingle they thought was a winner. Upon finishing their jingle, Tarek took over as creative director.

Meanwhile, as Synergy was in the elevator, Roxanne came up with a quick jingle, and the others liked it. They picked up on Roxanne's idea, and together they all added to it. Not long after, Synergy had their jingle.

Synergy was up first to show their jingle to Arby executives, and also to an audience, including Mr. Trump. Synergy's jingle had everyone clapping, and Mr. Trump was dancing along. I thought Synergy had a great sound, and done great with their jingle.

Gold Rush chose a classic type jingle, but their reaction from the executives and audience didn't go as well as Synergy's. The result: The executives thought Gold Rush done well with the taste, and they thought Synergy done well with matching their brand name. As a matter of fact, the executives said "it was something new, and that's what they were looking for." So clearly, Synergy had the winning jingle.

Synergy's reward gave them a taste of a white truffle, which costs $4,000 a pound. WOW, that's a lot of money for something to eat! I believe I would have to be given the truffle as a reward as well, or I would never get the chance to taste it at that price. Man oh man; I never thought food could run that much money! I guess I've missed out on some things.

Back at the suite, Bryce complimented his team for working together without a fight. During his speech he told his team he was an honest person, and he would not back stab.

When Gold Rush got to the boardroom, Mr. Trump asked Bryce, what went wrong, and Bryce responded by saying he thought it was the music they chose. Mr. Trump also told Lenny he was on "thin ice." When Mr. Trump asked some of them who they would fire the responses were: Lenny said he would fire Bryce, Tarek also said he would fire Bryce, and Lee wouldn't comment because he wasn't there.

Bryce chose Lenny and Lee to go back to the boardroom with him, but Lee wasn't even there, he observed the Jewish holiday. However, Bryce felt that he could have used Lee's help during the task.

When Bryce, Lenny and Lee returned to the boardroom, Mr. Trump told Bryce that Charmaine and Tarek were responsible for the lyrics, and he asked Bryce why he didn't bring them in. Trump also scolded Bryce for bringing Lee in, when Lee wasn't even part of the task. And that was pretty much it. Another one (Bryce) was fired for not bringing the right people back. When are these people going to learn to bring the right ones back? In order to save themselves they need to start paying attention, because Mr. Trump will usually give hints at whom they should bring back. I guess they're just not listening, or maybe they just don't care.

This week's business tip: Are you considering a jingle for a product or service you have? When deciding on your jingle, remember this: the melody line is the most important part of your jingle.
