A Controversy Leads to Two Getting Fired

Apprentice is back, and I will be covering each episode. Today I will begin with the second episode of The Apprentice. For some reason I thought tonight's show was the first one for this season, and when I tuned in I found out different. I don't know when the first episode aired, but I will cover the second episode and the episodes thereafter.

Mr. Trump told the teams to create a text message marketing campaign for the "Gillette Fusion Razor System," and the team that got the most cell phone customers to text message a key word to Gillette, would win the task. Upon receiving their task, Gold Rush went right to work. And Synergy began with a brainstorming session that ended up in a dispute between Tracy and Brent. While Brent tried to make his ideas heard Tracy kept cutting him off and wouldn't let him speak.

Brent decided to pull Tracy into the hall and confront her about cutting him off, but Tracy still wouldn't listen to what he had to say, and this caused a big scene when Tracy went back into the room and told the others Brent had "threatened" her. Tracy refused to continue with Brent around, and this lead to a discussion on sending Brent home.

Pepi took Brent out in the hall to tell him that the team agreed to send him home, but Brent refused to go and talked his way back in. My opinion on the whole situation, if they had given Brent the chance to talk and listen to his ideas, the whole thing could have been avoided, but they didn't.

The next morning Gold Rush got an early start; they headed to Times Square and began setting up. I think Gold Rush done a wonderful job on picking their location; they picked a spot where people were standing in line with nothing else to do. Because the people had nothing else to do but wait it gave Gold Rush a good opportunity to get some text messages.

Because of Gold Rush's impressive idea it led them to a victory with 683 text messages. Synergy on the other hand, they picked a bad location, and got a late start. Because of their location and late start, they only brought in 458 text messages, and most of those came with Brent started clowning around on the streets drawing in the people's attention.

Later, when Synergy returned to their suite to decide on who Mr. Trump would fire, Tracy changed her story about Brent. She started saying Brent didn't really "threaten" her. I think Tracy needs to get her story straight. I mean earlier on she was all upset and felt that Brent had "threatened" her, and this caused their task to be put on hold. Oh but what really took the cake was when she got in the boardroom. Tracy went back into the boardroom accusing Brent of "threatening" her again.

I don't think she really knows what a threat is, because just moments before the board room she was saying Brent wasn't really a "threat." I don't think I would want Tracy to be my attorney - closing arguments, anyone? Plus, I also have to agree with what Mr. Trump said about the whole "threatening" issue, he said "the whole matter was ridiculous!" I honestly don't think Brent "threatened" Stacy, I think he was just trying to get her to listen to him, and Tracy blew the whole thing out of proportion.

A decision was reached by Mr. Trump; he fired Stacy for picking a bad location, and for not being able to handle Brent. It didn't end there; Pepi was also fired for not being able to lead his team. Brent wasn't fired, but Mr. Trump did tell him he didn't think he would last long, and that he was a "disaster." I think Mr. Trump handled everything well, and I agree with the firing decisions he made. Did you agree with Mr. Trump? Did you think Brent "threatened" Stacy? Post your comments and let me know your views.
