Bergamot Oil - Bergamot oil has a lemony-orange scent. Use bergamot oil for exhaustion. Its distinctive aroma relaxes you and diminishes anxiety, fear and anger.
Lavender Oil - Lavender oil has a kind of spicy aroma. Use lavender oil for its calming effect. It soothes the nervous mind and relaxes you. If you suffer from insomnia this is a good oil to simmer.
Eucalyptus Oil - Use eucalyptus oil to stimulate the nervous system and to promote concentration. Also, if you use about 4 or 5 drops in a diffuser when you are sick, it will kill the germs in the air and reduce airborne bacteria.
Cinnamon Oil - Cinnamon oil has a scent that is unmistakable. Use cinnamon oil for its soothing effects. Cinnamon oil can provide a sense of warmth and security.
Patchouli Oil - Patchouli oil has a musty, sweet, spicy, earthy scent. Patchouli oil is believe to stimulate the brain. It can also be a very effective insect repellent.
Jasmine Oil - Jasmine oil has a very delicate aroma. Use jasmine to balance moodiness and to ease tension. Also known as the "Queen of the Night." jasmine was once thought to be an aphrodisiac.
Peppermint Oil - Peppermint has a very distinct aroma. Use this oil to improve concentration and focus. Peppermint is known to trigger the part of the brain linked to memory.
Mandarin Oil - Mandarin oil is known for its flowery, sweet aroma. Simmer this oil at your work desk to alleviate stress and exhaustion.
Lemon Oil - Lemon oil is another with a very distinct scent. This is the perfect oil to simmer as a natural air purifier.
Rosewood Oil - Rosewood oil has a flowery, woodsy scent. It can be used to stabilize mood swings, reduce stress, anxiety and depression.
Frankincense Oil - Frankincense has a very soothing scent. It has been known to alleviate fatigue, stress and anxiety.
Sandalwood Oil - Sandalwood oil has a sweet, balsamic aroma. This oil is thought to awaken the imagination and also has a very calming effect.
Vanilla Oil - Vanilla is used to ease tension, frustration, and irritability. Vanilla is also used to induce relation and a restful sleep.
Cedarwood Oil - Cedarwood has a scent that is sweet and camphorlike. This oil is known for its calming and healing properties. Its aroma is thought to help promote spirituality and give a sense of tranquility.
Verbena Oil - Verbena has a fresh lemony scent. This oil can purify stale air while promoting concentration. It is also an effective way to calm the effects of stress and exhaustion.
Ginger Oil - Ginger has a warm, spicy aroma. This oil can be used to set a nice relaxing, romantic mood. It has a very soothing effect.
While there are many many other scents available, these are the most common. I've also only listed their basic soothing properties, there is so much more to these oils!
