That's right, you must know and make sure your makeup is blended before leaving home. If not, the makeup takes on a clownish appearance even if you do not have tons of mascara and lipstick on. You find yourself looking one color around the center of the face and another at the hairline. Or, your face is made up and your neck looks a completely different color. Then there are those who have an obvious end to their makeup and beginning to their natural complexion color at the neck.
Makeup applied the right way is a form of art. Sometimes you see such horrible makeup jobs that you simply want to cry. You feel sad for the person walking around with too much makeup on or a bad makeup job. They have on too much makeup or they have a bad makeup job that makes them appear clownish. Most people simply laugh behind their backs. It's sad, but some women have no idea how to apply their makeup. They either rush to get it on never thinking of how it looks when they go out into public view or they just do not know how to make their makeup work for them. You want to take them aside and say "can I give you a lesson on makeup application?" When applying your makeup there are three steps you must consider:
Selecting the Correct Makeup Colors for Your Complexion and Skin Undertone.
The proper foundation applied correctly to your skin will make your face look as if you have the perfect complexion when it really is the foundation. Foundations sold over the counter can be matched to your skin tone. You may not find the perfect color in one bottle. By mixing two or three colors together, you can obtain just the right color for your face and skin tone. Some females have an underlying white tone, others have a pink, yellow or red and then some have an orange or brown tone. Whatever the underlying tone, your makeup should be so perfect that it takes on that color as if it is your skin. For the best foundations without paying enormous prices, take a few bottles of your desired brand. Find the colors that closely match your skin tone and take them home. Begin experimenting to mix the colors until you find the one combination that enhances yet is almost invisible when applied.
Select the Correct Finishing Powder
When setting your foundation, you do not want to change the color. Finishing powder is used to set the foundation to prevent shining and runny makeup. Your goal when applying finishing powder is to set the makeup so it does not shine, looks natural and does not run. Your powder makeup should be translucent or no darker or lighter than the foundation.
Blend Your Foundation to Remove Excess and Prevent an Obvious Beginning or Ending Line
Blending is imperative when applying makeup. Blending must be done when applying eyeshadow, foundation, powder, mascara or eyeliner. When blending is not done or done correctly, the beginning and ending of your makeup is obvious. Everyone looking at your face will see exactly where your makeup ends and your complexion begins. This is taboo for women. The well dressed woman wants to be admired for her total, flawless look. To accomplish the look of perfection, make sure your makeup is well blended. Blending is best performed with the finger tips. Use a clean tissue or a makeup sponge to remove any excess makeup after blending and to smooth the finish. A good blending job is imperative to a well dressed woman.
After you have applied your makeup successfully, go out into the world confident that you look great. No one can tell if you have makeup on after the job is done correctly. Then, when a closeup is unavoidable, you will not worry about what the other individual is looking at because you know there are no tell tale signs of a badly made up face.
