The Art of Being Sexy

What does it mean to be "Sexy"? Sexy is defined in the Free Online Dictionary, http://www.thefreedictionary.com, as 1. Arousing or intending to arouse sexual desire or interest; 2. Slang for highly appealing or interesting, attractive; interesting or exciting, or trendy. Regardless of how it is defined, Sexy seems to be the ultimate goal of women and men both. Unfortunately, it has become so important in our society that even children worry about this at ages when they should still be playing in mud puddles (Ok fine! I still play in mud puddles!)

But how does one become sexy? In a world of airbrushed models, silicone filled chests, waxing, tanning, coloring, fake nails, face lifts, butt lifts, lips injected to almost balloon proportions - how can a normal person be sexy??

It is easy. Sexy, has nothing to do with the shallow intonations people have attributed to this elusive adjective. You can be in a room full of powder coated, body perfection, silicone plumped robots, and one rather ordinary person will walk through the door - and people will look at this person and say "Wow, sexy!"

Sexy is not a look or a style. It is not a lipstick or a mini skirt, or a bulging bicep. It is an attitude, and a glow that comes from inside a person. It is a walk that portrays confidence and joy in one's own self, and an inner passion. You can not buy it, nor bottle it. You have it or you don't. You choose it or you don't. Basically, it is how you feel about yourself. It shows in your walk, in your posture, your smile, in every look you direct at another person. It is a language of the body and the essence of you.

Even in a world where people have been brainwashed into seeing only the outside coating, a naturally sexy person will stand out in a crowd. They draw the eye and the imagination with no effort. Sometimes, the appeal is indefinable, but the draw is there. Ageless, endless, sometimes subtle, often overwhelming. The air seems to vibrate around a truly sexy person.

Eventually, those who used artificial ways to attempt to find an illusion of sexiness - because they never understood it had to come from inside to begin with - end up looking like over worked, over cooked casseroles. And those who looked to these illusion purveyors as examples on how to be Sexy never find the ingredient they have been searching for. While a painted sunset can be appealing, nothing can compare to the way a real sunset awakens your senses.

The Art of being Sexy uses a palette of natural hues and sensations. Let passion for life fill you, have pride in your self, joy in life and your own body (yes the imperfect, natural one given to you), confidence in your own worth as a human, understand desire and energy, and you will emanate true sexiness. There is nothing wrong with making your self "beautiful" on the outside as long as you remember that without what comes from inside - you become nothing more than an empty bottle.
