The Attention Demanders

Shirley A Mandel
Help Lord,
there are so many things
in my life
demanding my attention
away from You.

The house needs attention
constantly.

The muse demands that I write,
and right now..

And Kitty is always
calling me
to scratch his little head.

But if the house
burns down today,
and I lose every molecule
that belongs to me

I'll still have you
reigning in my heart'
For You have given yourself to me.

And just think how wonderful
it is to have
the King of Kings
and the God of
the whole universe
with you.

Lord,
help me
to slow down
and listen to You more.

That's a sign of a spoiled cat, when it doesn't even have to scratch its own itch.

Remember Him always whatever you do, in happiness and in sorrow! Everything comes in cycles; that is life, Shirley! siva

Great words, Shirley. Perhaps we must just establish a priority for making time with our Lord. Though I chat with him from moment to moment, there are times when I fail to realize how long it has been between moments.
