The Autobot Massacre of 2005

A Poem Based Off the Transformers Animated Movie

Bo Gorcesky
Among the stars they fight

For millions of years. A civil war.

The Autobots and the Decepticons.

Two sides of one species: Transformers.

More than meets the eye.

Their battles have brought them

from one

side of the cosmos

to the other. But today

is the end.

The Decepticons wanted to end this war.

The life fluids of their opponents

trickle down the open mouths

of the Decepticons' rifles.

The Autobots lay dead in a hijacked

ship,

Consumed in the glorious

path of their opponents,

Next stop

Decepticons:

To Earth.

There's was a new breed of Autobots then

Down on our home. They were setting up

A new city to live.

They don't know of the approaching

massacre. They were peace-

Loving robots before this civil

war. Now in conflict,

they're all

Warriors.

They don't want to fight but they must.

To protect there values, their morals

And us, the Humans.

We were plunged

Into this war way back in '84.

We gave them fuel so they would survive,

They fought Decepticons

so that we would survive.

But not even us Humans could foresee,

The fall of our metal Gods

and heroes.

When that hijacked ship approached

Our skies. Full of hidden 'Cons.

The enemies of all

wolves in sheep's clothing.

The 'Cons flew out of the ship

And the slaughter began.

Their sadistic leader Megatron,

Fired his huge plasma cannon on

A rocky cliff.

That was where I stood.

I with my robot friend Hot Rod.

He saved me from that fall into the canyon.

He fought other attackers,

but retreated

To Autobot City.

Hot Rod transformed into a hot car,

We raced home to sanctuary.

I saw all the laser shots fired.

Many of my robot friends did die.

All the carnage.

But an omen of hope came, another ship

Descended from the heavens.

It was Optimus Prime

the heroic one.

The one to stop

the evil

called Megatron.

Prime knew one would stand

one would fall.

The two had fought for a millennia,

Eternal giants quarreling

to no ends.

Good versus evil,

light versus dark.

Who would of known robots make you this emotional.

Unless you grew up with them that is.

That was how I felt later on.

All of the surviving Autobots gathered

In the infirmary.

I had heard of

Great tales and legends,

the two fought

To the Death.

Prime did his part,

he saved us all.

He made the 'Cons surrender and retreat.

But a sacrifice came with his crusade.

His values cost him his life,

a hero

He shall always be remembered.

Another million years will pass, and

All shall cry out the legend

of Prime.

The day he stopped the great

Autobot Massacre of 2005.
