The Automation Virus: Automated Products and the Sales Letters that Promote Them

Desperate to Get Ahead!

Janet Atwell
How many times have you seen a comment written like the one below in a sales ad? Several times I am sure. This is typically followed by several descriptive lines of bullet points; that are considered advantages of purchasing/using whatever is being sold here. What came to mind when you read these lines?

The low price of $49.97 is an introductory price and will not last long. On Tuesday, November 20, 2007 it will be increased to $99.97.

It's cheap but going up by 50% soon - after using the Google Ca$h Machine for 15 minutes you will have earned your money back!

* You'll know in a few minutes that everything I say about the Google Ca$h Machine is true. And with my instant money-back guarantee, there is literally NO RISK for you.

* My Internet Friends told me I'm crazy to share my method for such a low price!

Many of us will read this and know that something just doesn't fit! But we can't quite put our finger on it. It tickles at the back of our neck and it irritates us. Like the word you just can't quite get off your tongue, it escapes you.

Well, here is the thing that is getting under your skin about these offers:

If this is such a darn good offer and it is guaranteed that you will make money in that 15 minutes, why then isn't there a guideline of some sort detailing what you have to do to earn that money in such a small amount of time? The idea here should be that you complete the assigned tasks and earn the money and they take the cost of this program out of your first earnings.

AH, novel idea there isn't it?

The problem is, they know that you won't make a dime. Therefore, neither will they.

Oh, on the rare occasion you will find that you make money immediately. You get your first small check, which will likely reimburse you for your original investment and with it will come a message that congratulates you on the GREAT job that you did, right from the start too!

Now, all you need is the sister program to this and you will be rich in a matter of months! What have you got to lose? After all, as you can see, we met our promise with this first offer.

It won't be worded exactly like this but it will be close. They hope that you will be so excited by earning your first paycheck that you don't take the time to think it over.

My advice? THINK LONG and THINK HARD!!

You will find the odd marketing company, that plays this game, who will lead you on for three or four sales. But it is more than likely that when you purchase that second product you will be on your own.

Can you make money using them? Yes, if you spend every ounce of spare energy, marketing yourself and your product, you can sell anything - eventually.

With just a minimal amount of investigating in the right places and asking the right questions, you can find out a lot about these miracle programs without ever reading all of the sales letter they post about it.

I have discovered that a good percentage of these new, miracle 'secrets', have actually been around for years. Many of them are outdated. Almost all of them involve a Website that will promote the person you purchased the program through and raise their page rank in the search engines. Many of them actually collect the contact information that you receive on your 'automated' site. I have found a few that will use your site as their contact return address and start immediately sending as many as four emails a day to your customer.

How long would you be a customer to someone under these circumstances?
