'The Bachelor' 2010 Season 14 Spoilers- Episode 6: Who Did Jake Pavelka Send Home After the Hometown Dates?

Victoria Leigh Miller
On Monday night's episode of ABC's The Bachelor: On the Wings of Love, Jake Pavelka visited the home towns of his Final 4 remaining ladies. As usual, the home town dates proved to be enlightening- and entertaining. And even though the promos for the show touted that, for the first time in Bachelor history there would be no rose ceremony, one of the ladies went home regardless.

But first, I lost count of how many times Jake said the word "amazing" in this episode. He was really on a roll with "amazing" and "falling for". As in, "I'm falling for four women". And is it only me who thinks the line, "I might be proposing to one of these women in a few weeks" sounds completely ridiculous. Anyway, on to the recap.

Gia- New York CIty. Jake's first stop is in New York City, where the gorgeous GIa takes him out on a boat ride to see "her city". She points out the Empire State Building to Jake, as if he doesn't know what it is. Later, they meet up with her family, which includes her mom, Donna, and stepbrother, Erick. Stepbro makes it crystal clear he doesn't want to see Gia get hurt. He says something about breaking Jake's legs if need be, which would seem threatening if it weren't so comical. Suffice it to say, GIa may have lost points with her hometown date.

Ali- Williamstown, Massachusetts .While it has already been shown that Ali is a San Francisco girl now, her hometown date is to Massachusetts. First stop was a visit to her deceased Grandma's house. Not sure why. Next up the couple visit Ali's mom's house, which had some very interesting electric blue kitchen cabinets. Ali's mom seems sweet, though, a real mom who truly wants her daughter to find that Prince Charming. During the make out portion of the date, Ali gushes to Jake, "I know that my family is just smitten with you," to which he replies a very bored, "Really". Still, I think these two could be a match made in heaven because later, in the interview portion of the show, Jake is wearing a sweater in the exact shade of blue as Ali's mom's kitchen cabinets. Just sayin'.

Tenley- Newberg, Oregon. Oh Tenley. Sugary sweet Tenley who just can't stop talking about how her ex-husband hurt her. Not exactly what you should be saying to a guy you just met and hope will put a ring on your finger. Tenley is fresh on the heels of a divorce she clearly didn't want and the wounds are still apparent. With her Farrah Fawcett hairdo, Tenley greets Jake in her Oregon hometown and takes him to a dance studio, where she has choreographed a dance just for him. She dances to the song "Canon in D Major", which is one of the most common wedding songs ever. Bold move for sure. I just hope it wasn't a song she had at her first wedding! Her parent's house is refreshingly normal. I just can't get past the fact that Tenley appears to have gone right from divorce court to The Bachelor.

Vienna- Sanford, Florida. This season's most hated bachelorette may not have made much headway with Jake this week either. First off, her dad, Vinny, is way too involved. He tells Jake he expects Vienna to be treated like a Princess, then in the next breath goes all Ward Cleaver on us, promising that if Jake marries his daughter the house will be clean and the kids will be raised right. Why is it that I can't picture Vienna cleaning toilets and changing dirty diapers? Jake tells Vinny that he's "falling hard" for Vienna. I can only chuckle that he's falling hard while he's tripping over three other chicks.

Back to L.A. and The Bombshell

Jake seems waaay too happy to be back to L.A. I think those hometown dates really freaked him out. Right away, Ali shows up at his hotel room with some bad news. She's just got word that she has to go back to work or she'll be fired from her job. Hmmm, now didn't they have this all figured out before she signed on for the show? Guess she thought she wouldn't make it past the final cut, but either way, the producer that screwed this one up should be the one fired! Since Jake can't promise Ali he'll put a ring on her finger, she has to put on her big girl panties and choose between him and her job. She sobs about it for a long while, then says she'll let him know her decision at the rose ceremony.

At rose ceremony time, Ali interrupts and asks to speak to Jake. Tenley mouths "This is crazy' and all I can think is the only thing crazier is the green shoulder-padded dress that Tenley is wearing! Behind closed doors, Jake does finally tell Ali he wants her to stay and even says he is falling in love. Ultimately, though, Ali decides to go. Internet chatter says she works for Facebook. I hope they gave her a raise after this because Ali is one dedicated gal. Jake tells Ali, "I feel like you're slipping through my fingers". Slipping? No, slipped Jake, because she is out of there.

Back at the rose ceremony, the remaining three ladies can't contain their smiles when told of Ali's impromptu departure.

So here we are, the Final 3 Bachelorettes:

Gia- age 26; Swimsuit Model; New York, NY
Tenley- age 25; College Admissions; Newberg, OR
Vienna- age 23; Marketing Representative; Sanford, FL

Next week it's off to St. Lucia for some fun in the sun. Also, Jake gets a phone call from Ali. Will she return to the show like Ed Swiderski did on last season's Bachelorette? Stay tuned.

It's ashame Ali someone is bashing Ali, I think she was the real thing, she wasn't afraid to show her emotions, you try being in her shoes, if he doesn't pick her, she would be jobless, i think she's a real woman, and knows what she wants, he's the idiot that didn't see that, they were so perfect together, you could see how much love this woman had to offer him, was like a fairytale, love like that only comes once in a lifetime, and if he missed out on this wonderful woman, his loss. I hope he doesn't pick any of the women, and gets on a plane, and goes get Ali, perfect ending.

i think ali deserves to be the next bachelorette, abby. she was putting on an act about being okay becuz she knew that if she broke down it would make it hard on jake!! i think she is the right girl for him and i hope she comes back next week to prove that to him. obvioulsly if you have DVR and recorded it you should go back and watch the women tell all and see the way he looked at her. they have the best chemistry out of all of them!! GO ALI!!!

Ali was so fake on the "Women Tell All!" All of a sudden, she's no longer a jealous hater and whiny brat who thinks she should be the only one that Jake dates. Her bitter attitude was so annoying. She is so shocked that Jake didn't drop all the other women and flew after her. Surprise Ali, the world doesn't revolve around you! She really wants to be the next Bachelorette doesn't she? Stop kissing up to the public now. If ABC makes her the next Bachelorette, I'm done watching!

I seriously don't think Jake will choose either girl in the end.

Still can't get over Roslyn, what a waste of space on the earth, she can't even lie well. Not only that but who puts themselves on a public show and then says "my personal life is no one's business" WOW! She needs some serious therapy, she's just made herself the laughing stock of the US and beyond. It's girls like her that give us blondes a bad name!

Its an adult show and your 12 year old shouldnt be watching if you find it inappropiate!!!

  • Annie 2/16/2010

I wish they would quit staying and talking about sharing the fanaatsy suite. My daughter and her friends (age 12) watch and it is givig the wrong message.

I cannot believe that he sent Gia home and kept Vienna!!!! Vienna is a very young immature woman who will never want to have children because they will take all the attention away from her.
Jake keeps saying that he is falling for all these women and then he lets them go....that is not love! I personally do not think that he even knows what he wants. I hope that he chooses Tenley, if he does not he is going to hurt this poor girl who gave herself to him, just like she did with her former husband.
Figure out what you want Jake...you have hurt too many women.
