Who can help but watch this new season of The Bachelor with hunky 30 year old U.S. Navy Lieutenant Andy Baldwin, M.D.? The white uniform says it all; can anyone say Richard Gere? The star of this season of The Bachelor, Andy, is almost too good to be true. After all, it was character Zack Mayo who was the charming navy bachelor in the movie (not to say Richard Gere isn't, I am a big fan). This season on The Bachelor Andy said he had not already married because he had not meet the right woman. Apparently, she is one of 25 on The Bachelor, however, as he has since indicated that there was an engagement at the end of the show.
If The Bachelor Andy is all he appears to be, I have to feel sorry for him. It looks like his pickins are slim on this show, unless he is just looking for some arm candy. I do not know where or how ABC producers find these women for the show, but most of them are just a ridiculous bunch of cat fighting, back stabbing, self-centered, gold digging hoochie mamas. If Andy can see through all that kooky mess and find a real woman in any of this group, he will be THE MAN.
Not only is The Bachelor Andy accomplished in his Navy career, and also seems to have had the perfect childhood, but he is also a world-class athlete. Why would such an overachiever need to resort to a television show such as The Bachelor to find the woman of his dreams? Something tells me he is going to be disappointed. There are surely quite a few young available women who would be his equal. However, it is hard to picture the same caliber of woman who would limit herself to a few chosen (and who knows how) prospects like they do on The Bachelor.
One would think that it would not be hard to find a few quality women to step in the shoes of those 25 candidates for The Bachelor. But, apparently, it is quite a hard job, unless the producers were looking for drama for The Bachelor. Maybe the producers should try a different approach and let America vote, if they want drama! This group apparently likes to drink, do acrobatics, cry, cuss, and just do stupid things. I am really surprised at Blakeney, the flakeney; I would expect better of a Southern girl. Why Andy gave Kate of the short dress who did "the worm" a rose, I can not figure out! And, Lindsay - come on, I was tired of that attitude and potty mouth the first ten minutes of the show! She should have been prepared for rejection; the odds are not good, with only 15 roses to be given away in the first Bachelor episode.
Okay, so even if The Bachelor Andy is for real, he does not seem very sincere. With the exception of a few women, it seemed like he was at a big sorority party. I think it might be interesting to see how things evolve as The Bachelor episodes get more serious. I think I will keep watching, if for nothing else, like those women in a certain diet soft drink commercial, just to see the hunk take his shirt off!

I should clarify that I'm not a fan of "The Bachelor". I wasn't referring to your article. LOL!
I'm not a fan, but this is a well written article!
I agree that this show has gone down hill since the beginning.
I have never watched this show but have heard good things about it. The guy is pretty hot actually, so I think I may check it out. Great article!
