'The Bachelor:' Brad Womack's Ex, Laurel Kagay, Claims He Proposed to Her Last Summer

His ex-girlfriend, Laurel Kagay, claims that Womack had proposed to her last summer, right before he left to film this season of The Bachelor.

According to The Hollywood Gossip, Brad and Laurel dated off-and-on for eight years. She claims that even when they were not together, he was always trying to win her hand in marriage.

Laurel Kagay believes it's important to warn whoever receives the final rose. "I'm sure the girl he picked would want to know he was proposing to another woman right before he started taping," she says. "I would want to know."

Brad Womack is not the only Bachelor franchise alum to date Kagay. She is also an ex-girlfriend of Wes Hayden. On Jillian Harris' season, the producers and Jake Pavelka led viewers to believe that Wes was still dating Laurel while he was on the show, but both Wes and Laurel denied it.

If Brad Womack really did propose to Laurel Kagay just before he left for The Bachelor, then hopefully he'll address this with the girl he chooses. All season, he has been preaching about being vulnerable and opening up. This season's women have confided deeply personal stories about past relationships, insecurities, and tragedies in the family.

Hopefully Womack is keeping up his side by being equally honest with them. And hopefully he stopped pursuing Kagay after he began filming The Bachelor.

Laurel Kagay and Brad Womack: Other Contestants

Yet Brad Womack isn't the only one with a rumored shady past. According to Life and Style, controversial contestant Michelle Money admitted to having an affair with married NBA player Carlos Boozer. Yet Money admitted that what she did was wrong and, at the time, she believed that his marriage was over.

And several sources including Starcasm and Wetpaint report that Chantal O'Brien was trying to reconcile with ex-husband Jason Vena just before filming The Bachelor. According to rumors, Chantal and her husband divorced because she had cheated on him with a cop.

What I found interesting is that ABC spared Chantal from the Dr. Drew group date, so she never had to answer the question of whether or not she had ever cheated.

Although her ex-husband has not commented on the story, columnist Reality Steve suggests that Vena has a vested interest in keeping quiet.

As Reality Steve writes, "What's continually been asked to me is, 'If that's true, why wouldn't her ex-husband just come out and say it and throw her under the bus?' Well that's very easy to answer. Because Chantal's ex-husband still manages one of her dad's dealerships. You honestly think THAT guy is gonna talk to a tabloid and say, 'Yeah, well she ruined our marriage because she cheated on me with a Mercer Island police officer, then once they were done, she came running back to me. I hate her for ruining what we had then coming back to me after realizing she'd messed up and wanting a second chance.' Uhhhh, no. The guy would lose his job in a heartbeat."

The Bachelor: Second Chances

I suppose there's no point in throwing stones at Brad Womack or any of the contestants. Very few people go through life with a clean slate, and, in this information age, it's so easy to air someone's dirty laundry to the public.

And Brad Womack has been talking all season about second chances. Hopefully he and his chosen lady will be able to make the most of it.
