The Bachelor: Does Anyone Believe This Tripe?

EBurgin
The season 13 finale of "The Bachelor" ended with divorced, single dad Jason Mesnick proposing to Melissa after agonizing over the fact that he loved two women--Molly and Melissa, the final two contestants vying for his heart. I won't use the last names of the young ladies involved because some day they just might want every one to forget they were ever involved in this mess. After a tearful, gut wrenching farewell to Molly, Jason proposed to Melissa. She joyfully accepted a gorgeous diamond, and the two of them were joined by Mesnick's young son, Ty. They all jumped fully clothed into the swimming pool of the estate where the episode was filmed, delirious with joy.

Fast forward to the next episode "After the Final Rose" which was filmed six weeks later. A solemn Mesnick confides to the host, whose name I won't mention because I don't want to give him any publicity, that things aren't so rosy after all, pardon the pun. They are then joined on the set by Melissa, and Mesnick tells her that they are "not right for each other." Melissa acts mildly shocked, dabs her eyes, and strides off the set. Enter Molly. Mesnick tells her that he (as she predicted when he dumped her) made a mistake in choosing Melissa. He asks her for another chance, and Molly tells him that her feelings for him never went away. They share a kiss and the show ends.

Does anyone think that this stuff is real? Melissa's reaction was a little too low key for a "dumpee". There should have been some more swearing involved, and maybe some slapping, or spitting. And I was hoping that Molly would tell him just where he could put his diamond ring. Does anyone want to make a bet how long this "relationship" lasts?

Poor little Ty. First his Mom and Dad split, then his new step mom-to-be is dumped just as he is getting to know her. That's a lot for a pre-schooler to handle. Hope he doesn't end up on a psychiatrists couch because of this. But he is young enough that maybe he won't remember any of it in a year or so.

I was annoyed at myself for wasting 2 hours watching this drivel. There was a show on at the same time on PBS on the Spanish Inquisition. At least I would have learned something.
