'The Bachelor Finale': Brad Chooses Emily Maynard Over Chantal O'Brien

Bachelor Brad Womack went for the package deal on Monday's episode of "The Bachelor," choosing Emily and her five-year-old daughter over Chantal.

Chantal, who said early on she was in love with Brad, took it hard, breaking into sobs when he told her he had stronger feelings for someone else. He didn't dare say Emily's name, perhaps thinking it would be even harder for Chantal to hear.

Brad's family had given their stamp of approval for Emily, although they seemed taken with Chantal, whom they met first. Brad's mother, his brothers and sisters-in-law traveled to South Africa to meet the two women.

"My family needs to like these women," said Brad, who was overcome with emotion upon seeing his family. "We all want to see Brad happy," said his mother, Pamela. "But if he was with someone we didn't like, we would let him know."

During Brad and Emily's last date, she put him on the spot and asked if realized fatherhood was a full-time job. He became agitated, wiping his brow and drinking water as if he had to literally cool down. Perhaps he was upset because he was the one who started the conversation and was trying to tell Emily he was ready to be a father.

And now he will get that chance--he proposed to Emily as she stood in a white gown in a fairy tale setting in South Africa, and she said yes.
