The Bachelor: Jason Mesnick Finale

Contains Potential Spoilers

The Internet debate between Reality Steve and Chris Harrison has been more entertaining than any season of The Bachelor ever. ABC may be stomping mad at what has transpired on web pages during this season, but they should be kissing the feet of Reality Steve. His efforts to debunk the show have actually improved its ratings as folks are now tuning in to see who is right.

DeAnna Pappas was the first season of this reality show I waded my feet into. It was interesting and the cast was gorgeous. Although married with children, no pun intended, I fell for Jason Mesnick and was heartbroken DeAnna was not in love with him. I jumped for joy when I found out he was getting his own season.

That being said, my curiosity won. Just like checking the last chapter of the mystery, I had to Google Bachelor Spoilers. Imagine the surprise, delight, laughter, and shock that befell me as I stumbled into this guy everyone is alluding to as "Reality Steve". Steve has his haters. But Steve has his fans. To find Steve you have to Google or type him in directly.

To those of you still wondering what I am rambling on about, here is the scoop. Weeks ago, when the bachelor began airing, they showed us clips from the season. Avid fans of the show immediately took the shot of the hand he proposed to and began making comparisons to the twenty five women. It helped when photo releases began appearing for them to start body typing the finalists down. It was decided the hand we saw was Melissa's.

Well, there went this season of The Bachelor. And it's only week two! But wait, before you lose interest completely, Reality Steve appeared on the scene with very elusive clues and hints that things are not what they appear. So for those who thought their sleuth skills had just come out on top, they began to bluster. Many negative comments were made, while others put the skills back in action with the clues.

The clues that were given, in no particular order were:
K Moon/Rebecca
2/3
Montreal
Its not the who its the how.

I got lost in his translation, which he has released on what each clue actually meant. They were very vague. By themselves they meant nothing, in all honesty. That's how Steve "planned" this. The clues would be meaningless except to prove that in the end he was right from day one. And we were all morons to disbelieve.

Now, Steve has released the full scoop as he knows it. And he has brought to light some interesting questions. Why did ABC let us see the proposal in the premiere? Because they knew they would foil us in the end! They knew when the show aired how this story wound up. Jason does propose to Melissa, I warned you this article had spoilers. If you don't want to know more, stop reading. I'm serious. Don't yell at me if you find out more than you bargain for and hate the finale.

During the after show, he dumps Melissa. Jason will resume his relationship with Molly. This is what Steve is proposing on his blog. Because of this, the show will air another after show to explain how this came to be. They will use prose and flowery words to convince us this was not planned or scripted.

Reality Steve proposes they knew this all along. In an effort to boost the show ratings and viewers, they scripted this to string Melissa along. Melissa is the victim in this scenario.

Chris Harrison fights back on his blog. Instead of talking about the "Women Tell All" taping, he defends his honor. He never calls out Steve by name. He never verifies this information as inaccurate or accurate. He just defends his name.

What led to this article was a desire to put a third, neutral opinion out there in lieu of these two blog fists slapping each other round for the next few weeks.

In my opinion, Reality Steve's spoilers are probably true. The reason I believe this is, Chris messed up. In his eagerness to defend his reputation as the show host, he let on that there may be some truth to all the rumors flying across keyboards. He leads us to believe that we will watch a dramatic finale on Monday, March 2nd.

If there is no truth to what has transpired, then I do not believe Chris would feel a need to defend himself so adamantly. He would sit mum and bear the tarnished reputation until the show aired and he came out triumphant.

As to Chris feeling so bashed, I think the public is taking this sham of a season out on the host. Chris has to make his bread and butter the same as anyone else. How many people have known their co worker was likely to be laid off or fired and kept their mouth shut? When the paycheck is at stake, oftentimes we find ourselves doing what we have to do to get that money.

As for the show, if nothing else all this controversy has stirred the ratings. People are going to watch how this plays out. Because even though we have been told how the book will end, we have not verified this with our own eyes. The book hasn't rolled the last chapter off the printing presses officially.

Honestly, the whole thing disappoints me. I rooted for Jillian over both of the other girls. I was kind of hoping if we were going for a dramatic dump and leave them finale, Jillian would be his choice. Will there be repercussions for how this plays out for ABC or the show as a whole?

I shook the magic eight ball and it said, "highly doubtful." Why? Because they are a huge conglomerate. They make the buck off publicity. No publicity is the only bad publicity. Do you think I jest? If something gets enough attention, even negatively, it draws the curious in droves. If anything, Reality Steve probably gave ABC the best season of The Bachelor ever.

I hate surprises. I hate the anticipation of never knowing if your getting a good surprise or a crappy one. I hate once I know the surprise all the anticipation is gone. I hate spoilers. I love spoilers. I hope Reality Steve starts dishing on Big Brother this summer. Now there's a show that is scripted!
