The Bachelor London Calling: Monkey Shayne Lamas Keeps the 2.85-carat Ring

Now really, if anyone watched The Bachelor London Calling and believed that Matt Grant and Los Angeles socialite Shayne Lamas would live happily ever after, they obviously need to read up on relationship building. Matt's monkey, Shayne Lamas may have been a lot of fun during the taping of The Bachelor London Calling, but Matt got the monkey hair pulled over his goody-two-shoes eyes when he selected Shayne as his fiancé in the Final Rose ceremony.

The London Bachelor should have gotten his first clue to a rather unsettled future after his visit with Shayne Lamas's family. That was obviously not your typical come-home-to-meet-Mom experience. The dashing London Bachelor was, however, swept off his feet by the openly adventurous lifestyle of the famous California Lamas family. Did Matt really think Shayne would give all that up to move to London? Not only will Shayne NOT give up Hollywood, but she is not giving up the engagement ring Matt gave her either. Wow, is that another surprise from the bling bling personality of Shayne Lamas?

Another obvious clue to the upcoming Bachelor couple split was their appearance on The Bachelorette After the Final Rose with DeAnna Pappas. I lost count of how many times Matt rolled his eyes in disgust of some overpowering, domineering comment made by his monkey, Shayne. It was clear then, that Matt's happiness with Shayne was definitely deteriorated. Despite Matt's unhappy ending, it is reported by People that Matt has no problem with Shayne keeping the 2.85-carat Tacori eternity ring for which she has prepared a final home for the rock like a glass slipper. According to Shayne, Matt wants to come over and look at it. Sure.

That isn't the same story that Matt has about the ring. In a July 30, 2008 report to Reality TV World, Matt tells reporters Christopher Ricchio and Steve Rogers that he never agreed for Lamas to keep the ring like she said he did. Matt would like to see the ring auctioned off and the proceeds split between the two's favorite charities. According to Matt, the ring represents a marriage that never happened and neither one of them should keep it. According to Matt, he should have some say in the disposal of the ring even though The Bachelor sponsor paid the $65,000 price tag.

News had already broke about the Matt-Shayne split and that Shayne Lamas was having a little too much fun with Vegas media mogul Justin Wenerger during a Las Vegas trip, but Shayne swears she did not cheat on Matt and that she never would do that. Shayne says her and Matt had already broken up and she was a single girl having fun. Shayne's credibility for telling the truth might be a bit tainted since in May, she told Reality TV World's Christopher Rocchio that, "We're madly in love and we're not going to put any pressure on ourselves. We're in it until the end. We're engaged and we're going to get married and it's forever."

According to the People report, Matt moved out of Shayne's California pad in June because he needed some space to be his own person and be with his own friends. Well Matt, be a little more careful about what circle of friends you choose to share your space and get that prenup signed about who gets to keep the ring.
