The evening began with Andy meeting Tessa. Tessa showed excitement to meeting her potential future-in-laws. She explained that a woman who marries Andy will also marry into his family and that she understands the importance of family in Andy's life. Andy's mom was immediately blown away at Tessa's beauty and the entire family felt immediate connection to Tessa's personality. Additionally, Andy's grandfather made a point of telling Andy that he would definitely approve of Tessa in his younger days, if he were in Andy's place. The entire family proceeded to interrogate Tessa with difficult questions about her religion, her feelings for Andy, and her future in the forthcoming five years. Tessa successfully answered all of the questions, but somewhat struggled to talk about her life with Andy in five years knowing that another woman has the potential to take her place during the journey of The Bachelor.
Andy's sister proceeded to ask Tessa yet another challenging question. She wondered "why Tessa wanted to leave The Bachelor at the beginning of the season?" Tessa explained that her initial hesitations had nothing to do with Andy himself, but that the entire concept of The Bachelor seemed to terrify her somewhat due to her reservations; however, every time she spent time with Andy, she knew that she wanted to stay. The answer seemed to satisfy Andy's sister as she gave Tessa her seal of approval.
Next part of the evening included Bevin meeting Andy's family. Bevin entered the Baldwin household with a big smile on her face understanding the challenge of being the second bachelorette to meet Andy's family.
Bevin struggled to fit in with the conservative side of Andy's family. When she was asked what she does for living, she informed the family that she specializes in sexual dysfunction in women--an answer that somewhat shocked the Baldwin family.
Andy confirmed that he feels very special electricity with Bevin that he doesn't feel with Tessa; however, the family really liked Tessa and Andy felt the need to rationalize his attraction to Bevin.
Bevin stated that she first felt attraction to Andy during the third episode when he pulled her hair behind her ear.
Her beautiful eyes, her gracefulness, her laughter and her attraction toward Andy were the positive attributes Andy's mom immediately noticed about Bevin. Even grandpa Guy felt--without a doubt--that Bevin electrifies Andy on many levels. The family meeting ended successfully and the Baldwins saw what Andy loved about Bevin.
During the next part of the finale, the audience was able to feel the extent of Andy's confusion toward his decision. Grandpa told Andy that while he totally understands that Andy is turned on by Bevin, he can't help but wonder if he is placing too much emphasis on the physical attraction . As a result, grandpa advised Andy to project 5 or 10 years down the road and picture his life with each woman in order to make the decision. Andy's father contributed by stating that at this point of the Andy's journey on The Bachelor, there could be no wrong decision!
Andy told the viewers that he is looking to pursue a woman to marry for eternity--his parents have been married for 36 years and his grandparents for 60 years.
The following part of the finale took Andy on concluding dates with both Tessa and Bevin.
Bevin and Andy took a helicopter ride and Andy made Bevin very comfortable. The rest of the date followed with them taking a hike through the woods as Bevin expressed how comfortable she felt talking to Susie, Andie's sister.
At this point of the show, Andy had clearly demonstrated his need for reassurance from both women, Bevin and Tessa; he wanted them to say how much they want to be with him.
When they were back in her room, Bevin gave Andy a card and a watch, the same gift Andy gave to Bevin earlier in the season. After the gift exchange, Bevin surprised Andy by saying "I love you" and Andy got teary-eyed. He told Bevin that he loves her too, and that her "I love you" was the best moment of the whole experience at The Bachelor.
Subsequently on the show was the final date between Andy and Tessa.
Andy decided to let Tessa take the lead on the last date. Tessa was petrified at the last opportunity to let Andy know how she feels. They went horseback riding and swimming on an amazing beach; it was very romantic.
Tessa told Andy that she was nervous, but regardless wanted to enjoy every minute with him. Tessa attempted to communicate her emotions to Andy on the beach, but had problems verbalizing her feelings; however, she had stated that she wanted to spend the rest of her life with Andy.
In the remaining part of the date, Andy and Tessa spent romantic time in Tessa's room. Tessa gave Andy a gift--an emotional note depicting her feelings for Andy and a photo collage of their dates together. Tessa proceeded to tell Andy that she is in love with him and Andy confirmed that he loves Tessa as well. Furthermore, she declared that there is not a doubt in her mind that she will say yes if Andy proposes to her.
Andy stated that something amazing happened on his date with Tessa and that those were the moments he was waiting to experience with her throughout his journey on The Bachelor.
In the final moments of the season finale, Andy struggled to make his decision. He defined Tessa as sophisticated and by his side in any situation. In comparison, Andy confirmed that he loves Bevin's affection and the fact that she wears her emotions on her sleeve.
Andy went on a run to clear his mind and got very emotional while attempting to make his decision.
In the next scene, he was shown shopping for an engagement ring. It was one of those moments where Andy knew the right diamond cut as soon as he saw it. As a result, Andy fell in love with the simplicity and elegance of a round cut diamond--a perfect choice for his future bride. Andy's decision was finally reached and he was shown confidently standing and patiently waiting for the appearance of his future bride.
Tessa and Bevin were exposed anxiously arriving in the limos. Tessa was wearing a graceful light blue dress; Bevin had on a revitalizing long red dress.
The scene started with Bevin's walk toward the bachelor who patiently awaited her arrival. Andy started off by telling Bevin that she is beautiful; thus, reminding her that their connection is electric on so many levels. However, his compliments and pleasant demeanor soon ended as Andy informed Bevin of someone who has touched his heart deeper. Bevin's tears took control over her. Andy found it extremely difficult to finish his speech, overwhelmed by tears himself. He wanted Bevin to know that she is an amazing woman. Heartbroken, Bevin was actually speechless the entire time. Andy proceeded to walk Bevin to the limo to send her away. The walk was clearly painful for both of them as Andy struggled to find the right words for the heart-wrenching moment. In the end, he let "Bev" know that he will never forget her.
Reasonably, Bevin felt like she put everything on the line to take a chance and even though she knew it was a possibility, she never truly believed that she would be rejected. The pain was unbearable; she informed the viewers that the rejection is the story of her life.
Andy struggled to find a place of calmness in order to properly greet Tessa. Andy informed the public that Tessa is like a "wish come true" and that "the sky is the limit with Tessa."
In the following scene, Tessa was shown walking toward Andy. She was very nervous and every step she took seemed to further depict her emotional bubble and fear. Andy looked at her with ease and relief and Tessa felt his reaction from the beginning. He told her that she is elegant and sophisticated and most importantly she makes him laugh!
He proceeded to tell Tessa that it is finally just him and her.
Tessa was speechless as Andy got on one knee to propose. Andy confirmed that she is beyond his wildest dreams and that he wants to marry her, exposing the magnificent diamond ring. Tessa exclaimed "yes" as they hugged into the sunset.
Andy concluded the season finale of The Bachelor by asking Tessa if she will accept his final rose and her profound answer "yes" had never been clearer.
While the season finale of The Bachelor: Officer and a Gentleman is over, the viewers were invited to watch Tessa and Andy "come back to tell all" on Tuesday, May 22nd, when the drama was expected to intensify as all of the previous bachelorettes confront Andy's life-shattering decisions.
