The Bachelor Pad: Episode 2 Elimination Votes Craig and Jessie Off the Show and Wes Turns Charm on with Gia
On last night's second episode Jessie from Jake Pavelka's season of The Bachelor, and Craig from this past season of The Bachelorette were voted off the show. They join Juan and Michelle and are no longer competing for the chance at winning $250,000.
Michelle's craziness and Juan's treatment of Nikki made it fairly clear what determined their elimination from the competition at last week's show, as reported in last week's recap on Associated Content.
Yet, the second elimination ceremony was not so predictable. Promises were broken, last-minute decisions were changed and...
Wes turned his charm on with Gia.
A house divided
The Bachelor Pad has begun to deliver more of reality TV's twists and turns with the remaining 17 contestants.
There is a definite divide between the "Insiders" (the "cool kids") and the "Outsiders" (the "others"), with Elizabeth calling the shots, and being the house leader by wrapping the men around her little finger, especially Kovacs (Jesse K). Elizabeth is savvy and manipulates the game, apologizing for her mistakes, and claiming to be dumb...a "dumb smart girl."
Yep, it is high school at its finest.
The competition
Last night's competition was a pie-eating contest. Men against the men, and women against women, and no using hands.
Krisily tearfully pulled out of the competition. She does not have a gall bladder and needed to stay away from eating fat. She said that no win was "worth going to the hospital."
There was a lot of gagging and vomiting going on. The women certainly were seen at their worst, though they were competitive. The men did not fare well either.
Gia and Jonathan, aka "Weatherman," were the clear winners. Wes coached Gia through to her victory, and the men called Jonathan's pie-eating skills, "Impressive."
The dates
Gia took Craig, Wes, and Jesse B. on the date. Gia told Craig that he was getting the rose (as she and the other girls discussed).
At the end of the date, she gave the rose to Wes, who had admitted to her that he is serious about her, despite her having a boyfriend. Gia is falling for it, and is facing the dilemma of right and wrong where the boyfriend back home is concerned.
Peyton, Ashley, and Gwen were Jonathan's choices. He believes Ashley's claims to want "fair competition."
When Jonathan gives Gwen the immunity rose, Ashley runs back to the "Insiders" and spills the beans on the "Outsiders" plans to shift the power base.
The elimination
Because Gia gave the rose to Wes, it sabotaged the early plans and there was a lot of scrambling for options. The outsider group agreed on a plan to vote off Kiptyn, which would have split the vote between Kiptyn and Craig, and Gia would have had the power to make the decision, having won the competition.
Kiptyn played on Nikki's emotions and she changed her vote, which sent Craig home, and the "cool kids" still have control over the house.
Krisily and Jessie S. were the women that were up on the chopping block. Jessie was trying to play both sides, and Krisily tells Kiptyn not to trust her.
Jessie is sent home and the outspoken Krisily is safe for another week.
What's in store for next week?
Since so many promises were broken by the outsider group this week, they have been exposed and no one knows whom they can trust. They are back to square one and will need to figure out how best to survive, and try to develop new alliances.
Elizabeth will likely keep her status as the leader of the pack, and continue to use her feminine wiliness to control Kovacs with sexual tension. She'll threaten being ostracized from the rest of the group with the others.
As far as Wes and Gia are concerned, we saw a sneak peek at what's in store next week. Wes continues to lay on the charm, grabs his guitar and serenades the smitten Gia with the same song he sang for Jillian.
And the games will continue.

Post a CommentGood recap, Coral. Thanks!
Can Jake just go home? I'm done seeing him.
Sounds like a soap opera~!
Thanks Coral:0)
Nice job, can't say as I watch the show but good job.
I watched the first two episodes for the sheer entertainment, I don't think the "cast" of the show realize how idiotic they appear - I'm not watching thinking - oh look at how gorgeous - I'm watching thinking - what a bunch of wierdos and how entertaining their self-absorbtion is.
To describe themselves as "the popular kids", "the cool kids" - is completely ridiculous - FAR FROM!!! More like, "self-absorbed, narcissistic brats". And Elizabeth is flat out ugly and psychotic - she's wierd in more ways than one and her crappy fake blond hair color looks awful. I'm sick of all the fake boobs too. And Tenley - what a little princess baby ego- growup - stop making people feel like they have to tip toe around you - you're so self-involved! This show reveals a lot about human behavior and it's pathetic. For Gia to promise Craig, with her word that she emphasized is trustworthy - was more than disappointing.
Ugh Wes... why!!?
