The Bachelor Season 11 Premiere

Well, last nights episode of The Bachelor on ABC was as usual an interesting one. Of course the first episode of the season always is with The Bachelor, because the weird girls haven't been weeded out yet. I must say that overall I was pretty impressed with this years bachelor. He seems humble and refreshingly down to earth. I find it impressive that he worked his way up from growing up in a trailer park, to working ten years on an oil rig in the gulf to now being a self made millionaire. That takes character most people don't have. Plus, he has enough life experience to be interesting and multidimensional. The ladies that showed up for this years season of The Bachelor were interesting in many ways, below are the highlights of the evening.

Every year on The Bachelor there are a handful of girls who really say or do something desperate or odd to make an impression. As viewers we are always left wondering what they were thinking, but hey were not all cut from the same cloth and that is what makes the world wonderful. This year was no exception to this rule, several girls made questionable moves that both did and did not pay off for them.

The first girl that came up on the weird radar on this years bachelor premiere was Juli. Yes, Juli is spelled correctly she introduced herself by correctly spelling her name Juli without the E! Juli without the E got a bit stranger when she attempted to impress the bachelor by turning herself into a human pretzel. Does Juli not realize that the type of guy that would be impressed by that on the first date may not be interested in her for the right reasons. The worst part about it is she has to be somewhat intelligent, she is a law student.

Morgan was another girl that got my attention. Morgan was quirky in a okay way at first, but then proceeded to tell the bachelor in their very first conversation ever that she had webbed toes. Then, she took her shoe off and plopped her foot right on the coffee table. Not that there is anything wrong with having webbed toes, but typically displaying physical oddities should be done a little further down the line.

Then there was Melissa who for whatever reason drank far to much lost her chicken cutlet type boob insert on the floor. She then proceeded to wave it around and stick it back in her dress in front of the entire room of people. Melissa apparently is found of the word sweetness and other variations of the word sweet. In pretty much every conversation she had including interviews she repeatedly used the words sweet and sweetness to describe the bachelor. The premiere of The Bachelor had to be embarrassing for her!

Lastly, there was Mallory a 24 year old nanny from Hawaii. Now Mallory's move paid off for her because she did get a rose, but I found it a bit desperate. Mallory came prancing out in the middle of the party wearing her bathing suit. The explanation she gave was that she wasn't getting any one on one time with the bachelor so she was just going to take a swim. Mallory proceeded to jump into the pull and then invited the bachelor to to take his pants off and come in with her. She also mentioned something about taking a dip in the jacuzzi with him. the bachelor of course declined the invite, but he did give her a rose.

At this point it really is to early for me to make a pick for winner. The bachelor seemed to have a few girls that impressed him. He did give Jenni a Phoenix Suns Dancer the first impression rose, but that doesn't really mean much. If I had to take a guess at who is standing out to him right now I would say Bettina, Deanna and Jenni are his favorites. We shall see though as the series progresses, because that can always change.
