'The Bachelor' Season 15: Brad Tells a Hurt and Heartbroken Ashley H. Goodbye

Two Women Standing: Emily and Chantal O

Brad told Ashley H. goodbye on Monday night's episode of 'The Bachelor,' which means Emily and Chantal O. will meet Brad's family in Cape Town next week.

Not even beautiful Sabi Sands, South Africa could inspire a meeting of the spirits between Brad and Ashley H. Brad whisked her away in a helicopter, despite her fears of the aircraft, and only after reassurances from him, did she climb on board. But Brad promised to take care of her and piloted the aircraft himself, landing on beautiful terrain that the locals refer to as God's Window. Indeed, the scenery and view were fitting of the name, but it just wasn't enough to put Brad in the comfort zone with Ashley.

During a picnic lunch Brad asked Ashley where she'd like to live after she finished dental school, and as he pointed out later, she didn't say Austin, where Brad lives. He questioned her about her goals and learned that Ashley wants to be Superwoman, to have it all. He said she reminded him of himself at that age, and cautioned her to strike a balance and not to be all about work.

In defense of Ashley, she's a decade younger than Brad, and just as he did at her age, she's ready to throw herself into a career, which seems to scare him. It appears as though Brad likes to be in control and she just wasn't giving that to him.

"I just want my Ashley back--the one I fell for," he said, reminiscing about the first one-on-one date he had with her at a carnival. But it was not to be, and he told her privately, away from Chantal O. and Emily, who were waiting for the rose ceremony.

During this episode of 'The Bachelor' Brad took Chantal on a safari, and afterwards they had a picnic as hippos waded in the river behind them. Brad told Chantal she was the one he was most comfortable with, and she told him she was in love with him, not the first time she'd so.

Brad worried about the "roller coaster ride" of Chantal's emotions, and seemed to think there would be more of the same if he chose her. I would say her emotions have been normal--she told him she'd fallen for him so how else would she act when competing for his affections with other women? Again, Brad seems to want that control.

Then there's Emily. "Whenever I'm around Emily I'm a much better person," he said. "She makes me giddy." He also said Emily was a truly sweet woman, the type he'd dreamed about.

Brad surprised her with an elephant ride, which elicited truly southern phrases. "Oh, my goodness gracious," Emily said. "Oh, my lord." Yep, truly sweet, she is, so if that's what he's looking for, she appears to have it.

Emily took the opportunity to share her feelings with Brad. "I am absolutely and completely falling in love with you," she said. Brad was pretty stoked about that, and when asked, told her he was ready to be a father figure in her five-year-old daughter's life.

So Emily or Chantal--Brad will need to make a decision for the final episode of 'The Bachelor' next week.
