Reality Steve is rock solid on predictions, right? I get that and many "The Bachelor" fans have relied on his word to see what is coming our way when the final rose is handed out. In fact, I promised myself not to hop on the Reality Steve website this season because I wanted to write about The Bachelor and see it all unfold without having everything "ruined." Reality Steve has been slam dunking it for so long that I just couldn't resist. Once it was down to the final five, I had to look. Just one little peak won't hurt, right?
Here's where "The Bachelor" spoiler shocker comes in. Reality Steve several weeks ago predicted without much doubt that Chantal would be the girl Brad Womack proposes to. In fact, it seemed completely feasible and up to this point everyone has left when Reality Steve had indicated. The guy has been that good. So why wouldn't it be believable? So I've been kind of disappointed and thinking the whole time that Brad Womack is going to pass up the wonderful Emily Maynard.
So here's where it gets interesting. There's a major plot twist developing if you check out the Reality Steve website. Now, Reality Steve has done a 180 degree turn and is now saying that Emily Maynard, not Chantal will be the girl proposed to by Brad Womack! What? What a major "The Bachelor" spoiler shocker. Except this time, Reality Steve is wrong. The spoiler was spoiled by another spoiler! The guy was so amazing with his predictions that I just kind of thought it was a foregone conclusion. He always uses his sources well and he is always accurate.
Until now, there has been zero reason to believe Reality Steve is wrong! It's almost a mind blowing spoiler shocker. Now we have to focus and rethink every thought we had about what is going to play out on "The Bachelor" finale.
Not just to mention that if Reality Steve is wrong once, he could be wrong twice. It's kind of like in high school--if you make all straight A's you can have a 4.0 GPA--but just one B, and you'll never have a 4.0 again. That's the kind of thing Reality Steve will be facing after finally getting something wrong-if that's the case. Although, there is little denying the guy is wrong this season. Because now if Chantal gets the final rose he is wrong for changing his tune. If Emily wins, he was wrong in the first instance.
But I am not knocking Reality Steve at all. The guy has been phenomenal and nobody forces you to read his columns to find "The Bachelor" spoilers. Anyone who can out think the network for several seasons is incredibly talented at developing sources and gaining the trust of people in close proximity to the show. That can't be easy.
The guy should be reporting for the networks if he can cultivate his sources that well. Except he's probably just enjoying doing his "own thing" with this website.
So who is this Emily Maynard that Brad now allegedly hands the final rose to? She's just that lovely blonde girl next door type who lost her only other love in a plane crash. Maynard found out she was pregnant and now she has just the cutest little girl(that America loves already) ever.
Those who followed Reality Steve might be kind of furious. But they shouldn't be, really. Reality Steve probably had decent information and he probably found a source that might have misled him a bit so "The Bachelor" could finally air without everyone knowing what happened. But you know what? The show isn't over until it's over. I kind of still think it could go either way no matter what "The Bachelor" spoilers are currently saying.
I, like many people in America, am kind of hoping Brad Womack picks Emily because she just seems so darn nice. But I truly think, unlike some past seasons, Brad really can't go wrong. Both women seem like great wife material from the edited clips we have seen so far on "The Bachelor." But don't blame this Reality Steve guy. If anything, the fact he might be wrong this season finally makes it a bit more interesting when we watch the finale.
It's almost as if Emily Maynard is getting a second chance-and I find that kind of exciting after just assuming she was going to get dumped. That would have been and still would be awful considering her past.
We won't truly know what happens this time around until the show airs. Those of us who were impatient and read those spoilers might just be pleasantly surprised that Emily Maynard, who seems like the nicest Bachelorette of all time, will get that final rose. It's almost as if Emily picked up that miracle rose at the end and walks away with the guy of her dreams-if that's what happens. So those of us who were spoiled in the early going will still get the benefit of an unpredictable ending this time around. And from now on, "The Bachelor" spoilers will be thrown out but not completely interpreted as "truth" until that Final Rose ceremony. So once again we can watch TV the way it was meant to be.
From now on, I'll probably stick to writing and ignore "The Bachelor" spoilers as much as possible. We all kind of deserve this spoiler getting spoiled for sticking our hands in the cookie jar.
But don't blame me if I can't resist in the future. Afterall, you never know when the show might just throw a major twist toward writers like what may have happened this year. For once, "The Bachelor" will be more than watchable on the final night. It's always good television-just not as good when we already know the details.
