Roberto and Ali Tour Lisbon
The Bachelorette's first date was with the handsome Latino, Roberto. There is definite chemistry between Ali and Roberto, which is apparent as they stroll the cobblestone alleys and stop for a series of passionate kisses. While Ali and Roberto enjoy the magic of Lisbon, the remaining four guys receive mail announcing that Frank and Ty will have the next date (a two on one) with the perky bachelorette. Back with Ali and Roberto, things are heating up. Ali gazes adoringly at Roberto as they share some wine and kisses in a setting made for romance. Is Roberto too good to be true or is he everything Ali wants in a man?
Ty and Frank Travel Back in Time with The Bachelorette
The date begins with yet another helicopter ride and more than a little complaining from Frank, who decided on the second episode of The Bachelorette that Ali's heart belonged to him. Ali, Frank and Ty tour an old castle and sit down together for dinner. Ali is edgy and seems more uncomfortable with this double date than the two guys competing for her attention. Ali pulls Ty aside for some alone time. The bachelorette has many questions for the cowboy. Ali is concerned that she will not be "traditional" enough to please Ty's family.
Frank and Ali then have some alone time, and Frank drops a bomb on Ali. He tells Ali that he left his job, bummed around Europe and moved back home with his parents, which is where he currently resides. While many women would be put off by this, (I admit that I would not be very impressed) Ali does not seem put off at all by Frank's announcement. Ali tells Frank "that he is everything that she said she wanted but everything that she fears".
Kirk's Fairy Tale Date with the Bachelorette
Kirk greets Ali with exuberance. He seems like a really nice guy. Ali tells the camera that her spirits are down and that she hopes that her surprise for Kirk (a romantic horse drawn carriage) will help lift her spirits. The scenery is absolutely breathtaking. They arrive at a gorgeous castle. Ali remains distracted. Kirk notices and tries to ease her anxiety about the upcoming home town dates. He tells her "he has not brought a girl home in three-years". Ali tells the camera that her date with Kirk is not going as well as she had hoped. The two have a serious discussion about relationships. Ali seems comforted by Kirk's words and he is certainly one of the most eloquent contestants on this season of The Bachelorette. The date ends with romantic Portuguese music and Kirk states to the camera "he will be elated if he gets a home town date with Ali."
Chris Wins over the Bachelorette during the Final Date
Once again, the bachelorette announces that she is nervous at the start of the date. Ali tells the camera that at this point she sees Chris as more as a friend than as a date. The date begins with a scooter ride. Chris, who has a great sense of humor, tells the camera that he can't be the "dude who wipes out the Bachelorette". Ali seems amused with Chris's slow and awkward driving and compares his slow moped driving to the slowness of their budding relationship. Ali then takes over driving the moped and the date takes off from there. Ali and Chris then head to a winery. Ali asks Chris how he feels about a hometown date. Chris responds that he feels natural with Ali and that she makes him smile. Chris gives Ali a gift of a bracelet, which she loves. There is little chance that Ali will send Chris home this week. Ali even goes so far as to say, "Chris will make an amazing husband".
The Rose Ceremony
Ali has just four roses to hand out. She gives the first rose to Chris. Then it is Frank, Roberto and Kirk in that order who receive roses. This leaves Ty, the country boy from Tennessee without a rose. Next week the Bachelorette will embark on four hometown dates.
